Miley Cyrus Is Back in the Studio and Sharing Very NSFW Photos With Cody Simpson
Once again, Miley Cyrus has posted images of herself that aren’t exactly family friendly. The former teen pop star continues to prove she’s a grownup musician, both through her music and her attire. Here’s what we know about what she’s working on and how she and boyfriend Cody Simpson are doing.
Miley Cyrus took a break from music
Cyrus has been making music for a very long time, dating back to her Disney Channel days. She has been going especially strong the past few years, launching into production for her seventh album (allegedly titled She Is Miley Cyrus) shortly after the release of 2017’s Younger Now.
However, after the 2019 release of She Is Coming, the first of three scheduled EPs, Cyrus’ life began to change. Following her breakup with Liam Hemsworth, she delayed her upcoming releases. Her vocal surgery at the end of 2019 further extended this delay.
What has she been working on in 2020?
Cyrus much of the last few months of 2019 on vocal rest. She used this time to reflect on some of her past career highlights and notable anniversaries. Oh, and she spent a lot of time with Simpson during this period, showcasing their blossoming relationship online for fans to see.
But by the time 2020 arrived, Cyrus was ready to hit the ground running. She was back on social media in a big way, revealing her new mullet haircut and the promise of “new music” to come. All signs indicate that She Is Here, the second scheduled EP, is in the works.
Cyrus shared a vocal warm-up with fans
Now that she’s back in action. Cyrus is happy to share a few behind-the-scenes moments with her Smilers. She has posted quite a few moments with famed producer Andrew Watt. And nearly all of her Instagram Story videos appear to be in (or near) a recording studio.
On Feb. 2, 2020, Cyrus took to Instagram to share a video of her working on a vocal rehabilitation exercise. She wrote, “everything is soooo divine these days,” adding, “I’m finding my vocal surgery at the end of last year to be a gift, made me take time to really hone my craft!”

When Cyrus isn’t working on new music, she’s spending time with Simpson. In January, she sent him off to Europe with a few amazing birthday gifts. Now that he’s back in Los Angeles, the two have revealed that nothing has changed between them — and revealed a bit of skin as well.
Simpson posted two NSFW photos on his Instagram of himself and Cyrus. The latter is wearing lingerie and posing provocatively as she prepares to cut her beau’s hair. He captioned it, “superbowl supercuts.” Cyrus then shared the first of these images in her Instagram Story, along with another of just her showing off the lingerie.
When is Cyrus performing next?
Spending time with Simpson certainly hasn’t slowed down Cyrus’ career. Smilers have a lot to look forward to in 2020. In addition to her pending new music, the singer-songwriter will be performing at multiple festivals in the coming months.
Cyrus will be headline BottleRock Napa Valley in late May 2020. She’s then headed to the Governors Ball Music Festival in New York in early June, followed by Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in her native Tennessee alongside Lizzo. We hope she’s going to bring back some old hits and surprise us with new ones!
