For a decade, fans watch Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth‘s on-again, off-again relationship. The pair met on the set of the 2010 movie, The Last Song and aside from some splits here and there, they seemed destined to be together. The pair finally tied the knot in December 2018 and most people thought they had finally found their happily ever after.
Unfortunately, that was not the case. In August 2019, the couple set the internet ablaze when reps announced their split after less a year of marriage. Though fans of the couple didn’t see any of the signs, sources close to the couple claimed that the pair had been out of sync for some time.
In the months following the couple’s split, there was a ton of drama, especially surrounding Miley and who she was dating. But what does the former couple’s relationship look like today?
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s divorce was shocking
Cyrus and Hemsworth met on the set of The Last Song, and though they were super young, they just clicked. The pair were inseparable for some time. However, during the course of their time together, Cyrus began to step away from her Hannah Montana/Disney image.
The actress/ singer was increasingly more open about her sexuality, shocking the more seemingly straight-laced Australian actor. Though the couple tried to make it work, in the end, they were no longer a fit for each other. An insider told People,
She just got to the point where she didn’t want to hold back about who she is. She wants to be true to herself. Being with Liam, this was just not possible. For them to be happy, she had to change as a person too much. She knows not being with Liam will make her happier in the long run.
Miley Cyrus moved on from Liam Hemsworth right away
Almost immediately after her split from Hemsworth was announced, Cyrus was spotted vacationing in Italy with her friend, Kaitlynn Carter. However, from the look of the photos that leaked to the press, the singer and The Hills star’s relationship had become much more than a platonic friendship.
Soon, the pair were being spotted across the globe, dancing at clubs in LA, visiting New York Fashion Week, and everywhere else. However, that six-week-long relationship crashed and burned almost as swiftly as it began leaving Carter stunned and confused. For his part, Hemsworth had retreated to his native Australia until the divorce was finalized.
A month later, Cyrus was getting cozy with Australian singer, Cody Simpson who she’s been with ever since.

Now, a year after their split, Hemsworth and Cyrus’ divorce is finalized. Hemsworth is dating model, Gabriella Brooks, while Cyrus is approaching the one-year mark with Simpson. The former couple has little to no interaction. An insider told Entertainment Tonight,
