Josh Flagg’s soon-to-be ex-husband Bobby Boyd said the Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles couple was on different sleep schedules and he even created a second bedroom so he could sleep while Flagg stayed up late at night.

Boyd discussed their sleep schedule months prior to their breakup, adding that Flagg would be up until 4 am.

Bobby Boyd and Josh Flagg had a second master bedroom

Boyd said the second master wasn’t created because the couple had tension, but mainly because his Million Dollar Listing husband liked to stay up so late. “If he’s up super late in the master, we kind of took a page out of his parents’ book where I created a second master, which is the room I’m in now, which is the room I get ready in,” Boyd said a few months ago on the Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast.

“I need straight sleep,” he added. “Like I don’t always get it, but I need like eight hours of like complete, just comatose. But with him, he’s up and about. So sometimes, I’m like, all right, I’ll come into the guest room. And he’s like, but I can’t sleep. So he’ll wake me up like at 3 am, 4 o’clock in the morning. So it’s time to go to bed. I’m like, all right, so I scoot over and that’s how he sleeps.”

The ‘Million Dollar Listing’ couple also didn’t wake up together

Boyd said Flagg’s parents also operate the same way and they’ve been married for years. “That’s kind of what his parents do. His dad stays up super late as well. He’s like up reading until 3, 4 o’clock in the morning. Then he goes to bed,” Boyd said.

Flagg also didn’t get up with Boyd in the morning. “He did in the beginning, which was, you know, with every marriage,” Boyd said. “That’s why you have like, [getting] to know each other in the beginning. I’m still waking up early. Cause I had a corporate job at the time and he’d have coffee with me. And then when I leave, he’d go back to sleep. But he’s a late owl.”

Josh and Bobby want the best for each other

Close friend Heather McDonald said she knows Flagg wants the best for Boyd. “When it was made definitive and I was made aware of it a little before this, I was sad about it, but they’ll both be fine,” McDonald said on her Juicy Scoop podcast.

“Some people I talked to [asked] was it tension? Was it uncomfortable?” she said. “Actually it really wasn’t for me. I kind of just thought that was their fun banter. And I wasn’t really worried.” But she noted that they had different groups of friends.

“Some of our mutual friends were like, I don’t think that’s good,” she recalled. “And I’m like, well, as a heterosexual couple, Peter goes off all day without me and I have my girls’ night with you, right? We’re fine 21 years later, so I’m like, So why can’t a gay couple have different, [friend groups]? So that didn’t concern me. But in the end, maybe I think they are very different people and they wanted different things.”

Boyd also noted on Behind the Velvet Rope that he was ready for kids, but Flagg wanted to wait. Close friend and Million Dollar Listing co-star Tracy Tutor said that was a touchy subject for the couple.

“I think that Bobby wants a family and Josh is sort of not in that space at the moment,” she told People. “This isn’t anything that hasn’t been on the television show. I think that that’s all very real for both of them and so I’m not surprised. I’m never surprised anymore.”

“[Josh is] one of my closest friends and I love him and Bobby,” she added. “Obviously, Josh confides in me and he’s doing okay. He’s hanging in there as is Bobby.”
