The new mom hoped to get a chance to share her IVF experience with fans in person. But she had to host a “virtual” book launch instead. She posted a heartfelt note on Instagram the day before she was supposed to host her book launch event. She discussed the difficulty she had writing the post. Adding that she understands the fear and anxiety everyone is experiencing. “I worry about our grandmothers who must be so scared knowing they are the most vulnerable,” she wrote.

“I am sad about everyone who’s been significantly affected, losing their jobs,” she wrote. “Everyone in isolation who can’t cope with the loneliness and don’t have the means to find alternative spaces,” she continued.

Serhant added, “I think about our healthcare workers who are on the front line and are not properly equipped to fight.”

She reached out to fans

Serhant continued with her post. Sharing that she looked forward to meeting with many of her fans in person at the book signing. “I poured my heart into this children’s book,” she wrote. “EG Keller worked so hard to bring to life my vision, the vision of what many of us go through in order to have a miracle baby.”

She continued by writing that many inspired her with stories of multiple losses, repeated rounds. Also, IVF, IUIs, pregnancy through surrogacy, or donors, adoption, painful and scary pregnancies.”

“I think of all of you women who’s current fertility treatments are canceled indefinitely,” she noted. “The many of you who’ve been trying for years, this feels unfair and scary. The many of you who are pregnant or just had a baby and don’t know what to expect or are thinking about the possibility of this being a new norm. I remember just having given birth and feeling so vulnerable and scared for my little one. I cannot imagine bringing her into the world during this time.”

But she still has hope

Serhant decided to host a virtual book signing and release her book. “Please join us tonight for a virtual book signing in celebration of the publication of TO THE MOON AND BACK FOR YOU, my debut children’s book,” she shared on March 24. “Ryan and I will be in conversation and I’ll be taking your questions live at 6PM EST.” ⁣⁣⁣

“A portion of every sale will be donated to Project Sunshine by Premiere Live Signing, the host of tonight’s event. My publisher will match the donation.⁣⁣,” she continued. “Ryan and I will be donating $10 for every book sold this week, to support our community affected by COVID-19. We are currently looking for smaller organizations who need immediate assistance during this time, more to come on this.⁣”

Serhant added a video message too. She said her book was inspired by the many ways “miracle babies come into our lives. This book is an ode to the often difficult journey of becoming a parent.” She recounts her journey to bring her daughter Zena into the world and her dream that hope will prevail.
