Actor Milo Ventimiglia has taken a stance, politically speaking. Not only did he reveal to his followers on Twitter who he voted for in the 2020 presidential election, but encouraged them to do the same, while citing what he believes his popular This Is Us character would do. Here’s what Ventimiglia shared.

Ventimiglia is known for several popular TV roles, from Gilmore Girls to Heroes. However, his current most well-known role is that of Jack Pearson on the hit NBC series, This Is Us. Jack is the father of “the Big 3,” as they’re called: Kevin, Kate, and Randall, his children with Rebecca Pearson (played by Mandy Moore).

The show does a lot of jumping back and forth in time. The scenes with Jack all take place in the past, as he passed away in a house fire when the Big 3 were young. Ventimiglia was nominated for the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for seasons 1-3 of This Is Us.

He isn’t particularly active on social media

Unlike many celebrities, Ventimiglia doesn’t engage much on social media. He uses his verified Instagram account as a photography page, occasionally sharing dozens of photos he’s taken over the preceding months at once. His latest “dump” took place on August 8, 2020, with images from all across the country.

“It’s funny when people are writing articles about how I don’t give a sh*t about rules of Instagram,” Ventimiglia told Us Weekly in a 2018 interview after taking a lengthy hiatus from the platform. “I’ve always respected what social media can do, the connective tissue of sharing life moments.”

Ventimiglia encouraged his followers to vote for Joe Biden

Twitter is where Ventimiglia interacts the most, promoting his latest projects and signing each from “MV.” However, in October 2020, he relayed a different kind of message to his followers, revealing who he (and his character) prefer of the 2020 presidential candidates.

#JackPearson would NEVER vote for @realDonaldTrump (for so many reasons) neither should you,” Ventimiglia wrote alongside a photo of himself wearing an “I Voted” sticker. “If you like JACK/Vote for JOE. #BidenHarris all the way.” Moore quote-tweeted and added, “TV spouses stick together!! #BidenHarris all the way.”

When does ‘This Is Us’ Season 5 premiere?

While This Is Us viewers will never know precisely how Jack Pearson would vote, that doesn’t mean politics doesn’t play a role in the show. A season 3 storyline saw Randall run for city council and win, securing a position that affected his life throughout season 4.

Speaking of season 4, audiences are eager to see what comes of the cliffhangers at the end of it. The This Is Us Season 5 premiere was delayed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which caused many major productions to halt. The new season will begin on October 27, 2020, on NBC.
