The wait for Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 has been a long one, but it looks like fans of the anime finally have a release date window. The first look at the coming chapter revealed when the anime will return, as well as what to expect when it does. Judging by the trailer, this fall will ring in more supernatural shenanigans and more big action moments.

‘Mob Psycho 100’ Season 3 gets release date window this fall

That’s right, Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 received an October release date window at the end of its new trailer, which was shared on Twitter on May 12. It’s likely to be one of the fall 2022 anime season’s biggest premieres — alongside Bleach‘s much-anticipated comeback and My Hero Academia Season 6.

The anime’s second outing debuted back in 2019, so fans haven’t caught up with Mob and Regan in quite some time. Season 2 concluded with a massive fight sequence stunningly animated by Studio Bones. And it looks like we’ll see more of that moving forward. Several shots from the trailer promise a third season on par with its predecessor.

The season 3 trailer promises more humor, action, and heart

Although the release date window was probably the most exciting thing to come out of the Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 trailer, it’s not the only detail worth talking about. The minute-long look at the third outing teases more humor, heart, and action — all things the anime is well known for.

The footage opens with business as usual for Mob and Regan, but it looks like Mob may find himself in trouble throughout season 3. Several shots showcase posters with a drawing that looks a lot like the anime’s hero — posters that look suspiciously like “wanted” signs. Perhaps the public blames Mob for the destruction at the end of season 2. Or he and Regan could find themselves wrapped up in other problems.

As the trailer continues, the pair finds themselves in more dire situations. A few shots show them running and sweating, and that’s not to mention the explosions and oversized Dimple toward the end. Whatever is happening in season 3, it promises to challenge the anime’s heroes even further. It may also bring their storylines to a close.

‘Mob Psycho 100’ will likely end with the coming episodes

Although the release date window has fans excited about Mob Psycho 100 Season 3, the anime’s coming episodes are likely to be bittersweet. If the series plans to stick to ONE’s manga, the third chapter may mark its end. There isn’t much of the source material left to adapt. Another batch of episodes could easily bring it to the manga’s finale.

And the trailer’s action certainly seems worthy of a conclusion. We’ll have to wait and see if that’s what Studio Bones has planned. In the meantime, there’s plenty to pore over in the first footage. Plus, those feeling particularly impatient can pick up the manga before season 3 arrives.
