For the Disney+ show Moon Knight, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige promised that they held nothing back in terms of mature themes and violence. However, Disney made Oscar Isaac pump the breaks when he tried to drop an F-bomb in the Moon Knight TV series. Isaac revealed that there exist several Moon Knight deleted scenes where he said, “Oh, f**ck.” Unfortunately, Disney likely won’t let those see the light of day.

Oscar Isaac wanted to drop the F-bomb in Moon Knight as a reference to a popular meme

Moon Knight Episode 5 revealed Marc Spector’s brother, father Elias (Rey Lucas), and mother Wendy (Fernanda Andrade). However, Isaac’s real family also has a role in the series.

In Moon Knight, Oscar Isaac’s brother, Mike Hernandez, acts as Isaac’s body double. And Isaac revealed that they’re both fans of a popular internet meme.

“My brother and I, there’s this meme that we think is really, really funny,” Isaac told ScreenRant. “It’s this English kid that’s got a tie on his head. He’s rapping, and then just a punch comes out of nowhere and punches him, and he goes, ‘Oh, f**k, I can’t believe you’ve done this!’ A lot of people know what I’m talking about. And so I was like, “We’ve got to find an opportunity to do that.”

The video in question was uploaded to YouTube in 2007 but found a second of the now-defunct video-sharing service Vine. Ironically, after Vine shut down in January 2017, it found a third life in Vine compilations on YouTube again.

A more mature superhero than Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, or Thor seemed like the perfect time to drop the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first F-bomb.

Disney shut down Oscar Isaac’s attempts to drop an F-bomb in ‘Moon Knight’

It took Oscar Isaac time to become fully comfortable playing Moon Knight, Marc Spector, and Steven Grant. However, by the time they filmed Moon Knight Episode 5, he was comfortable enough o integrate more colorful language.

“And this seemed like the perfect time to do it. So I did it,” Isaac continued. “I did a lot of takes where I actually say, ‘Oh, f**k,’ and I thought, in Disney, because it’s TV or whatever, that you get one F-bomb.”

However, despite the Jewish superhero Marc Spector having more range for adult things, Disney shot down Oscar Isaac’s F-bomb plans for Moon Knight.

“But ultimately, not even one,” Isaac lamented. “We don’t even get the one, so we had to change it. But basically, that is just my homage to that.”

Could the ‘Star Wars’ actor reference the deleted scenes in behind-the-scenes looks?

The Marvel Disney+ shows have released exclusively on streaming. For fans hoping to see behind-the-scenes details and bloopers, Disney has released special episodes on Marvel Studios Assembled for shows like WandaVision, Loki, Hawkeye, and more.

Marvel Studios Assembled will likely include an episode dedicated to Moon Knight, Layla El-Faouly (May Calamawy), Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke), and the Egyptian god Khonshu.

However, since Marvel would not allow Isaac to drop the F-bomb in the show, the footage likely will not appear in any officially released media. At best, the takes may appear in bloopers with Isaac’s “Oh, f**k” bleeped out.

The actor might not want to mention how he and Ethan Hawke did shrooms together during Moon Knight filming.
