In Marvel’s Moon Knight Episode 5, Rey Lucas starred with Marc Spector (Oscar Isaac). However, at the Moon Knight premiere, Rey Lucas talked about his favorite Marvel Comics characters – ironically not Moon Knight-related. And he teased Marvel bringing the Uncanny X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he could hardly wait.

Who does Rey Lucas play in ‘Moon Knight’?

In Moon Knight, Rey Lucas plays Elias Spector, the father of Marc Spector, and part of the traumatic childhood that resulted in Steven Grant becoming an alternate personality for Marc.

Each new episode of Moon Knight revealed shocking details fans did not know. Episode 1 introduced Steven Grant and Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke) and a mysterious woman named Layla (May Calamawy), calling him Marc.

By episode 4, fans had seen more of Khonshu and the Egyptian Ennead, including Osiris’ avatar, Selim (Khalid Abdalla), and Hathor’s avatar, Yatzil (Díana Bermudez). However, fans knew very little of Marc Spector’s past.

Episode 5 revealed that Marc Spector had a brother, Randall Spector (Claudio Fabian Contreras). However, after he drowned while they were exploring a cave, Marc’s mother, Wendy Spector (Fernanda Andrade), blamed Marc. Elias withdrew, becoming cowardly and doing very little to stop Wendy from abusing Marc.

Lucas appeared in a later flashback in Moon Knight, inviting Marc to his mother’s Shiva after she died. However, despite starring in Moon Knight, Rey Lucas is more excited about some other uncanny X-Men heroes coming to the MCU.

Rey Lucas grew up reading more ‘X-Men’ than ‘Moon Knight’

At the Moon Knight premiere, an interviewer caught up with Rey Lucas. Lucas said he grew up reading Marvel Comics, but he leaned more toward Wolverine and Charles Xavier (rumored to appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness).

“That’s what I love about Marvel. They’re always introducing new characters and finding new ways to tell the story, and even the same characters have new elements of them developed and introduced,” he told Variety. “So it was really exciting for me, personally, I grew up a huge fan of the comic books. Not as much Moon Knight, I was pretty [into] Uncanny X-Men, but not to play favorites.”

“I’m glad they’re bringing them over, finally,” Lucas murmured under his breath with a sly smile. With how strict Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige tends to be about spoilers, Lucas told the interviewer that he thinks she has “a better shot” than he does getting more info out of Feige.

When could the X-Men join the MCU?

While Rey Lucas teased the X-Men joining the MCU at some point in the future, he did not say when.

Some suspect they could join Marvel as soon as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, he denied this.
