While the Sony Pictures spinoff of Spider-Man, Morbius, has not performed well with critics so far in reviews, hopefully, the end-credits scene entices more people. The Morbius post-credits scene had details leaked by director Daniel Espinosa, revealing Marvel Cinematic Universe connections and more. While Dr. Michael Morbius (Jared Leto) might not be in the MCU, a Tom Holland Spider-Man villain, the Vulture (Michael Keaton), has joined the living vampire after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Director Daniel Espinosa confirms Michael Keaton’s Vulture in the ‘Morbius’ post-credits scene

After Spider-Man (Tom Holland) defeated the Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Adrian Toomes found himself locked away in prison with the Scorpion (Michael Mando).

While he did not appear in Spider-Man: Far From Home or Spider-Man: No Way Home, Morbius director Espinosa confirmed he would return to the Venom and Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) universe.

While he did not give full details during his impromptu Morbius post-credits scene leak, he teased a new suit for the Vulture.

“If you look closely, you will see it is not quite the same suit as Homecoming,” he told Cinemablend (via The Direct). “He is a resourceful guy.”

Daniel Espinosa teases a future ‘Sinister Six’ movie with Morbius and the Vulture

When the director was pushed for details about a possible Sinister Six movie, he revealed even more info – kind of. The answer came as another vague hint rather than something fans can know for sure.

“Well, he is recruiting teammates, and he has enticed one already,” he said. “So it sure looks like a start.”

Many fans found his answers about the Morbius post-credits scenes too vague. Like much of Morbius’ promotional material, the Sony movie straddles the line between the Sony movies and the MCU.

Even early Morbius reviews commented that the movie did not know which universe to call home. While the director tried revealing answers, it only opened up more questions.

The ‘Morbius’ post-credits scene raises more questions than it answers

The Morbius trailers teased Keaton’s Spider-Man villain, who wanted to “keep in touch.” However, fans felt confused with Morbius and Venom taking place in a universe separate from the MCU.

In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange cast a spell to make everyone forget Peter Parker. This sent the other Spider-Man actors, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, to their native worlds. How could Michael Keaton’s Vulture from the MCU be involved in the Morbius post-credits scene?

Furthermore, details about connections between Morbius, Andrew Garfield, and The Amazing Spider-Man movies remain blurry, too.

While the Venom movies have fans, they ultimately failed to charm the masses like MCU movies. And with early Morbius reviews not favoring the Spider-Man villain’s solo outing, Sony might worry about the future of their franchise.

Fans can watch Morbius in theaters on April 1, 2022, and stream it at a later date.
