For at least some of the many fans of The Voice, they may have been first introduced to country music sensation Blake Shelton back in 2011 when the wildly popular singing competition began. Shelton is among judging alumni pop-rocker Adam Levine: The pair regularly exchanges jabs, stabs and steals on the show in their “Shevine” relationship.

When Gwen Stefani joined the judging panel in 2014, instead of friction between the alternative rock star and the country music man, romantic sparks were igniting instead. Inside the unlikely couple of Shelton and Stefani, the pair quickly found common ground as they both endured highly-publicized, painful celebrity divorces from their equally high-profile partners Miranda Lambert and Gavin Rossdale amid rumors and a confirmed report of cheating by their exes (from both Lambert and Rossdale, respectively).

Which begs the question: How many times has Blake been hitched in the past?

Previous to his successful four-year partnership with Lambert, Shelton also tied the knot with his high school sweetheart Kaynette Williams (Gern) back in 2003. The couple met when Shelton was just fifteen-years-old and dated for many years before their marriage in a small, off-the-radar ceremony in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Early in their relationship, Williams served as the manager for Shelton’s rising musical career. But due to her conflicting interests in her own career as a TV hostess, things didn’t quite pan out well with Williams in her management role for Shelton. She never received the same type of celebrity status or success as her then-husband. The two split after three years of marriage in 2006 amid an allegation by Williams of Shelton’s alleged “inappropriate marital conduct” and whatever that term was meant to reflect is anyone’s guess.

Blake Shelton’s second marriage

Fast-forward to 2011 when Shelton and Lambert were married on May 14, 2011, at the Don Strange Ranch in Boerne, Texas just north of San Antonio. The couple first met when they performed together at the 2005 CMT (Country Music Television) 100 Greatest Duets Concert. This union initially produced a country-western powerhouse pairing but eventually, their musical careers took them in different directions.

A celebrity marriage is difficult enough to endure on its own but adding complicated touring schedules, differing recording contracts, the time Shelton spent filming The Voice and that’s practically a recipe for disaster. As mentioned previously, the pair divorced in July of 2015 amid rumors Lambert may have been seeing someone else on the side.

Who is Blake Shelton currently dating?

Fans of The Voice were gushing while watching a budding romance unfold between Shelton and Stefanie both on-and-off the show much to the comedic relief of fellow judge Levine who spoke out about the couple outside of their existing bromance. At the time, the Maroon 5 frontman shared his thoughts about the couple during an interview on the Howard Stern Show when he said in part:

“They’re so in love it’s disgusting, It’s so funny, they found each other at really interesting times in their lives. It’s really beautiful.”

Happily married to Nigerian supermodel and Victoria Secret Angel Behati Prinsloo since 2014, there’s certainly no strings of jealous coming from guitarist, drummer, and singer Adam Levine. These remarks obviously came from a place of love and caring for his “work husband” Shelton.

If one were to say Shelton has a “type,” just take a look at his past two wives and current love interest since they’re all beautiful, talented women. While no one can say with any kind of certainty where his relationship with Stefani is headed in the future, we’d like to wish them all the happiness and success available to them in their star-studded lives.

Will Blake Shelton marry Gwen Stefani?

In closing, while the rumor mill has been running rampant hoping for potential wedding bells for Shelton and Stefani after they first coupled up, both have two-failed marriages so we may never witness the two walking down the aisle. However, if the couple is “going to the chapel” and they’re “gonna get married,” wouldn’t it be hilarious if Levine was chosen as the best man? Perhaps Shelton would relegate him as the ring-bearer as one more poke at the pop star.
