My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission arrived in U.S. movie theaters back in October, and fans of the anime have been waiting to hear about a DVD and Blu-ray release date ever since. The film received a digital release in Japan earlier this year, and U.S. fans finally know when they can snag a copy. It looks like the World Heroes’ Mission DVD and Blu-ray will arrive just ahead of My Hero Academia Season 6. Additionally, exclusive editions will be available.

On May 16, Crunchyroll announced its home video lineup for 2022, revealing the U.S. release date for the My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission Blu-ray and DVD in the process. Physical copies of the film will hit shelves on August 23. That’s nearly a year after its theatrical release in the U.S.

And fans will no doubt be thrilled to reunite with Deku and the gang, especially with a longer-than-usual wait between My Hero Academia Seasons 5 and 6. This gives them a chance to watch the third film before season 6 arrives. And collectors will want to keep an eye out for the Best Buy and Walmart exclusive editions of the DVD and Blu-ray set.

Best Buy and Walmart exclusive editions available on the same release date

In addition to dropping the U.S. release date for My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission‘s DVD and Blu-ray, Crunchyroll also revealed that Best Buy and Walmart will offer exclusive editions of the film.

The Best Buy DVD and Blu-ray set will come in a SteelBook featuring Deku, Rody, and Pino on the cover. Bakugo and Todoroki appear on the back, making this a nice addition to any collection. And fans can already pre-order World Heroes’ Mission on Best Buy’s website. As of this writing, both the regular and exclusive editions are available.

Instead of a SteelBook, the Walmart exclusive edition comes with a Deku FiGPiN. Falling somewhere between a figurine and a pin, the collectible will no doubt look nice standing next to the DVD and Blu-ray.

Both special editions come out on April 23, and those eager to get their hands on them should act quickly.
