First it was the perfect road trip, then it was the perfect European vacation. Now, Clark Griswold wants to give his family the perfect Christmas. That includes a house exploding with lights, a beautiful Christmas tree, and a house filled with relatives.
It’s not as easy as it seems. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation premiered in 1989 and since then, has become a favorite holiday movie among viewers for its comedy and its iconic cast.
“I don’t know. I mean, I know the one that the fans always talk about is when Ellen says, ‘What else can I say? It’s Christmas and we’re all in misery,’” Beverly D’Angelo said of her favorite scene, during an interview with The Current.
“I think everybody identifies with that,” she continued. “But yeah, there’s so many things. I bet if you talk to Chevy, he’d probably say the attic scene. That really moved him. That’s so John Hughes-ian, to really put that heartbeat in there.”

For fans who want to watch this Christmas classic, there is one television network broadcasting it during December 2020. They are plenty of holiday movies playing during Freeform’s “25 Days of Christmas” but, unfortunately, National Lampoon’s isn’t one of them.
This holiday movie plays predominately on the television network AMC. In 2020, it will play multiple times throughout the day on Dec. 10, Dec. 13, Dec. 16, and Dec. 19, according to TV Guide. With a subscription to AMC+, fans can stream National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation anytime, as well as holiday movies like Elf, The Polar Express, Happy Feet, and Fred Claus.
If you want to watch National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation anytime, though, it is available for purchase both digitally and physically, thanks to retailers like Amazon, Target, and Barnes & Noble. Viewers can also rent the movie on Amazon.
