Scott Bakula on why fans love ‘NCIS: New Orleans’
Back in 2015, “NCIS: New Orleans” was CBS’ most-watched new series, with an average of 18.1 million viewers, according to “CBS This Morning.” Bakula has played the role of Dwayne Pride since the show first aired back in 2014. Here’s what Bakula said about why viewers love “NCIS: New Orleans” so much:
I think people like the kind of show it is. For me as a viewer I like trying to solve mysteries, trying to figure out who did it. Obviously, there are lots of shows like this procedural on television right now, and there’s a great thirst for that. There’s a little bit of escapism in it. And these characters are great and they’re fun to be with and fun to see how they handle this crazy, intense work and then their life on the side.

One of the highlights of Bakula’s job is that he occasionally gets to work alongside his wife, Chelsea Field. She plays Pride’s love interest, Rita Devereaux. “I love working with her. We worked together a bunch before,” Bakula told Rachael Ray. “She makes me a better actor because she works more intensely and more deeply than I tend to work.” Ray said Bakula makes it sound like he has the best job in the world, and he replied, “It is. When you’re working with your wife it’s pretty fantastic.”
Fans can’t get enough of Scott Bakula
Some “NCIS” fans weren’t thrilled when they first found out there was going to be another spinoff. However, a few were pleasantly surprised when they learned Scott Bakula would be the lead character. Ever since, fans haven’t been able to get enough of the star and the show. “When I found out there was another “NCIS” I thought, ‘What now?’ I wasn’t sure I was going to watch it, but when I found out that Scott Bakula was going to be in it, that changed my mind in a second. He is a fantastic actor and what musical talent. You just fall in love with his voice,” said a fan on YouTube. A few viewers even said “NCIS: New Orleans” is the best of all the NCIS franchises.
