‘NCIS’ Season 17: Do New Photos Mean a Ziva and Tony Reunion Will Happen in Episode 11?

NCIS fans cannot wait to see Ziva (Cote de Pablo) back in action when the hit crime procedural returns to CBS next week. The episode is a continuation of what went down in the fall finale, “The North Pole,” and fans are excited about the possibility of seeing Ziva and Tony (Michael Weatherly) finally reunite. With episode 11 only a week away, do new promo photos tease that a Ziva and Tony reunion is about to become real?

‘NCIS’ drops new photos

Episode 11 of season 17, titled “In the Wind,” is easily one of the most hyped installments this season on NCIS. It is also Ziva’s last episode for season 17, so fans are expecting some major developments in her story.

Producers have already acknowledged their desire to bring Ziva and Tony back together, but nothing official has been confirmed. Sahar was one of the reasons why Ziva went into hiding in the first place, and now that she’s gone, a reunion seems ripe for the taking.

According to Carter Matt, NCIS recently released a slew of photos from the upcoming installment, including a shot of Ziva and Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) working together. We have no idea what the two are doing in the photo, but they seem to be talking to another person.

It also looks like the two are a bit displeased with whomever they are speaking to, though there is no telling without more context. It is also unclear what Ziva and Torres are doing now that Sahar is out of the picture.

What’s ahead for episode 11 of ‘NCIS’?

Apart from the Ziva angle, Gibbs (Mark Harmon) will likely be the main focus in the next installment of NCIS. In the fall finale, the team discovered that Sahar was actually still alive and was Phineas’s mom, Sarah.

Gibbs made the difficult decision to kill Sahar in the episode, freeing Ziva to come out of hiding and reunite with her family.

While the move was good for Ziva, Gibbs will likely struggle with the decision for the rest of the season. One of the promo images for the next episode of NCIS shows Gibbs and Vance (Rocky Carroll) in what appears to be a situation room.

We do not know what the men are doing in the scene, but Gibbs probably has to go through a lot of channels at work after killing someone on the job. While he deals with the problem of killing Phineas’s mother, he also has to tackle whatever comes next.

Ziva and Gibbs team up

Following the events in the NCIS fall finale, Ziva and Gibbs are expected to team up once again. Only this time, the two will be tracking down Phineas.

Phineas is set to go missing in the upcoming installment, likely as a result of the death of his mom. Ziva and Gibbs will be teaming up to find Phineas and get him to safety, though it will be interesting to see how he reacts to the entire situation.

In the process of finding Phineas, Ziva will be helping Gibbs get over his guilt for killing Sahar. Hopefully, the two can work out their issues before the episode wraps, leaving enough time for an epic reunion.

Will Ziva and Tony reunite?

At this point, it is possible that Ziva and Tony will get back together by the end of episode 11. This will be Ziva’s last episode until she (presumably) returns next season on NCIS, and fans would be disappointed if the series did not bring her family into the mix.

That said, there is a chance that Ziva ends her storyline this season on NCIS without reuniting with her former lover and daughter, Tali. Tony and Tali are currently living in France, and she might have some more loose ends to wrap up before she gets them back.

Whatever happens, it sounds like we will be a step closer to a Ziva and Tony reunion by the end of the next episode. If it doesn’t happen, here’s to hoping Ziva returns in a larger capacity next season.

Episode 11 of season 17 of NCIS is scheduled to premiere January 7th on CBS.
