‘NCIS’: Wilmer Valderrama on His ‘Bromance’ With Mark Harmon: ‘He Has Beautiful Energy’
“NCIS” star Wilmer Valderrama has nothing but good things to say about his time on the hit CBS series. In a recent interview, he spoke about his journey with the show and his admiration for the “NCIS” cast. One person at the top of his list is Mark Harmon, who is not only part of the cast but also an executive producer. Here’s what Valderrama said about his “bromance” with Harmon and his “beautiful energy.”
Wilmer Valderrama says the ‘NCIS’ cast will be his friends for life
In an interview with “Entertainment Tonight” host Kevin Frazier, Valderrama expressed how grateful he is for the show and his cast members. He says most actors don’t see each other again once a series wraps, but he knows he will remain friends with his “NCIS” cast mates:
The first thing that comes to mind is knowing that I’m going to know these people for the rest of my life. And at the same time, having the ability to create characters that you want to hang out with. You know, if you’re going to spend 12 hours with a person, aka your character, you might want to develop something that you want to spend eight-day episodes with and 24 a season.
Why ‘NCIS’ works
In a different interview, Valderrama told “Entertainment Tonight” he knows the secret to the show’s longevity. According to him, the cast makes the show worth watching. Valderrama says everyone enjoys coming to work each day and they try their hardest to deliver a quality show each week. “It sinks in how unique of an opportunity it was for everybody and the cast on the show,” Valderrama told Entertainment Tonight. “I think it’s the people. I think the people is what keeps the engine going. I think that audiences can see that something on set is working and that people like coming to work and they’re still trying.”
Wilmer Valderrama says Mark Harmon has ‘beautiful’ energy
Valderrama joked that he and Harmon have a “bromance.” He truly admires the actor and executive producer. Valderrama told ET about Harmon’s leadership and the energy he brings to the team. “You talk about Mark Harmon. Mark is someone that leads with kindness and his energy is beautiful. We have quite a bromance going on, him and I. But from the top down, I think it’s the people. The fact that people still love coming to work,” Valderrama told the publication, in reference to why audiences are still watching “NCIS.”
What’s next for Wilmer Valderrama’s character, Nick Torres?
“NCIS” is still teasing a possible romance between Bishop and Torres. The characters are still in that will-they-or-won’t-they? phase. In season 17, episode seven, we see Bishop and Torres almost confess their attraction for each other, but nothing comes of their conversation. Their flirtation hasn’t moved beyond subtle hints and glances. Making things even worse, Torres told Bishop she’s like a sister to him. Is there still hope for these two?
