Netflix Just Renewed ‘Love Is Blind’ For Season 2 and Season 3
In the midst of all of the chaos and confusion, Netflix is trying to spark some joy in our lives. Following the dazzling success of their first serious dating series, Love is Blind, Netflix has just renewed the show for two seasons.
Hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, Love is Blind followed 15 men and 15 who women began dating without ever meeting. Over the course of 10 days, the men and women went on a series of dates, chatting, and speaking to one another for long hours in pods where they were separated by a wall. “It was about 15-16 days that we didn’t talk to anybody in the outside world,” Mark Cuevas described the experience on 11Alive. “So what was cool about that was we literally had to go into ourselves [and ask] what do I want, what’s important to me?”
In February 2020, when the series first debuted it took the world by storm, sparking a massive following, memes, and everything else. Now, Netflix is hoping to capitalize on that success.
The ‘Love Is Blind’ dating pods were designed for optimum comfort
Since this was such an insane concept, and the actual sleeping quarters for the contestants left very little to be desired, the pods were very luxurious.
“The comforting and soothing colors of the pods were all by design to allow our participants the best chance to really focus on the voice on the other side of the wall,” Paria Sadighi, SVP of the production company that came to Netflix with the design for the pods, told Refinery29. “Even the acoustics of the pods were made to help the other senses relax into the octave of conversations.”
‘Love Is Blind’ Season 2 will be shot in Chicago
Season 1 of Love is Blind was filmed in Atlanta. The Love is Blind creator and producer wanted to make sure their newlyweds had an as easy a time as possible committing. Therefore having the duo already located in the same place was a major plus. Show creator Chris Coelen explained to Entertainment Tonight, “The reason that we did that was because we wanted to give these people a real shot at making their relationships work for the long term.”
Before Season 2 and Season 3 were announced the rumor was the show was looking at New York, Boston, and Houston as possible locations. Now we know that they’ve settled on Chicago.
‘Love is Blind’ was just renewed for Seasons 2 and 3
According to a Netflix press release sent to Showbiz Cheatsheet, Love Is Blind has the greenlight for two additional seasons. The press release reads, “Vanessa Lachey and her husband Nick Lachey (obviously) will ask the question again as new singles prepare to enter the pods for the dating experiment. Season two is currently casting in Chicago with season three to follow.”
Season 1 of Love Is Blind sparked two success stories, now-married couples, Lauren Speed-Hamilton, Cameron Hamilton, Amber Pike, and Matt Barnett are still happily married and living together.
