Ahead of the You Season 3 premiere, Netflix renewed the thriller series for a fourth season. Based on the novels You and Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes, the show follows Joe Goldberg (played by Penn Badgley). Often referred to as a hopeless romantic, he wants to find his one true love. Also, Joe will go to great lengths to ensure his partner’s safety – even if it means committing murder. Here is everything we know so far about You Season 4.

Netflix released a teaser announcement for ‘You’ Season 4

On Oct. 13, the streaming giant released a one-minute clip about the You Season 4 renewal. Just days before the season 3 premiere, Warner Bros. TV, Alloy Entertainment executive producer Greg Berlanti, and showrunner Sera Gamble released an official statement about the news.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gamble said: “Reading Caroline’s novel, Greg and I were instantly obsessed with Joe Goldberg and his twisted world view. And it’s been thrilling to watch Penn bring Joe to a creepy yet compelling life. We’re deeply grateful that Netflix has shown You such monumental support and that people around the world have enjoyed watching Joe really get it all very wrong over the past three seasons. The whole You team is excited to explore new, dark facets of love in season four.”

Alongside Gamble and Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, David Madden, Alloy’s Leslie Morgenstein, Gina Girolamo, John Scott, Neil Reynolds, Michael Foley, and Justin Lo will serve as executive producers for You Season 4. In addition, Berlanti Productions and Alloy Entertainment will produce the season in association with Warner Bros. Television.

The third season will follow Joe living in a suburban area in Northern California. While married to Love (Victoria Pedretti), he vows to be a good father to their newborn son, Henry. According to Deadline, the couple is surrounded by “privileged tech entrepreneurs, judgmental mommy bloggers, and Insta-famous biohackers.” Fearful of Love’s violent impulses, Joe embraces the new role as a husband and father. But, he soon becomes enthralled with a new next-door neighbor. And, his obsessive tendencies threaten to resurface.

You Season 3 will feature Badgley, Pedretti, and Saffron Burrows (Deep Blue Sea). Also, the new ensemble cast includes Shalita Grant (NCIS), Travis Van Winkle (Transformers, Friday the 13th), Dylan Arnold (After We Collided, Halloween Kills), and Tati Gabrielle (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina).

You Season 3 premiers on Oct. 15 on Netflix.

When is ‘You’ Season 4 premiering on Netflix?

Initially, the popular thriller series aired on Lifetime in 2018. But, the series garnered a small following on the network. The series exploded in popularity on Netflix, leading to a season two renewal on the streaming service. Soon after, Lifetime dropped the series, and Netflix picked it up. Then, it became a Netflix original series. At the moment, the streaming giant has not announced additional cast members and a premiere date for season 4. Nearly two years passed between the release of season 2 and season 3, so fans could be in for a similar wait. So, for now, fans will have to wait for further information from Netflix.
