After plenty of teasers posted to Instagram, fans finally learned about the official lineup for the 2022 Governors Ball Music Festival. This event will occur during June 2022, less than a year following the 2021 edition of this New York City-based event.

Similar to the 2021 festival, a full coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result will be required to attend Gov Ball.

Should the festival be canceled or postponed due to COVID-19 or hazardous weather conditions, fans will be issued a full refund or have the option to roll over their tickets to the 2023 festival. (Governors Ball 2020 was canceled due to safety concerns.)

According to a press release, Governors Ball Music Festival promoters, Founders Entertainment, “will also be making a $25,000 donation to the New York City Mayor’s Fund’s relief efforts for the victims of the Bronx apartment building fire.”

Past headliners at this New York City-based music festival included Post Malone, Billie Eilish, and Travis Scott. Headliners for the 2022 music festival include Halsey, Kid Cudi, and J. Cole, with J. Cole having attended St. Johns in Queens, and Halsey and Kid Cudi having launched their careers in The Big Apple.

Friday’s lineup features Migos, Jack Harlow, and Louis The Child. Previously nominated for the “Album of the Year” Grammy Award, Black Pumas will also perform. Saturday lists Flume, Roddy Ricch, Joji, and Still Woozy among its lineup. Additionally, “Habits” and “Talking Body” artist Tove Lo will take to the stage on Saturday.

Sunday features artists Playboi Carti, Glass Animals, Kaytranada, Clairo, and Becky G. There will also be a performance from Grammy-nominated band Japanese Breakfast and Grammy-nominated R&B artist Jazmine Sullivan.

Governors Ball 2022 will take place at Citi Field

For years, Governors Ball was synonymous with New York City’s Randall’s Island, where attendees traveled on foot or by ferry. In 2021, the festival moved to Citi Field in Queens, accessible to attendees via car or subway.

Due to the convenience factor (and safety concerns following a lightning storm in 2019), Governors Ball will return to Citi Field in 2022. The music event takes place from June 10-12, 2022, with some attendees already planning to purchase VIP and regular admission tickets.

3-day and 1-day GA and VIP tickets will be available for purchase through the Governor’s Ball website beginning Thursday, Jan. 27. More information can be found at GovBall.com.
