The AFC Richmond players will dance to an NSYNC song in ‘Ted Lasso’

On Reddit, the moderators of the Ted Lasso subreddit posted a short sneak peek from “Midnight Train to Royston.” In the exclusive clip, Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt), Coach Nate (Nick Mohammed), and Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) watch the AFC Richmond players perform a dance routine.

“OK Greyhounds, now let’s get in formation,” Coach Beard yells at the players. “Will, here we go.”

NSYNC’s hit song “Bye Bye Bye” then begins to play from speakers. Coach Beard counts down, and the players dance to a routine. As they dance, Coach Beard cheers them on, Roy mouths along to the words, and Nate looks concerned.

When they finish the routine, Coach Beard yells out, “That was it!” The players then break into a celebration.

NSYNC released ‘Bye Bye Bye’ in 2000

NSYNC originally formed in 1995, and the band had five members: Chris Kirkpatrick, Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, and Lance Bass. The group quickly became one of the most well-known boy bands of all time but stopped releasing new music in 2002.

“Bye Bye Bye” is one of NSYNC’s most popular songs, and its popularity and timelessness have remained constant throughout the years.

The song was released as the lead single of NSYNC’s album No Strings Attached. After NSYNC dropped the song, it reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, a chart that tracks the most popular songs in the U.S. on a weekly basis.

“Bye Bye Bye” also received multiple awards and nominations. It won Best Pop Video and Best Choreography at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. At the 2001 Grammy Awards, the single was nominated for Record of the Year and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.
