Niall Horan from One Direction started Pride Month by making sure his fans know that he loves and supports them. The star, who sang hit songs “This Town,” “Slow Hands,” and “Nice to Meet Ya,” has been using his Twitter platform to communicate with fans for years. How did Niall Horan get started in music and One Direction?

Horan auditioned for The X Factor in 2010 at just 16 years old and ambitiously stated that he wanted to be like Beyoncé and Justin Bieber. “I want to sell out arenas and make an album and work with some of the best artists in the world,” he said during his audition. “I’m here to be the best artist I can be in the world.”

He sang “So Sick” by Neyo. Katy Perry called him “adorable” and Simon Cowell said, “you’re not as good as you thought you were.”

Horan later joined the five-part band One Direction on The X Factor. They later sold-out arenas, stadiums, and had hit after hit. After One Direction went on hiatus in 2015, Horan released his first solo single, “This Town,” in 2016. He toured the radio station Jingle Ball concerts that same year then put out Flicker in 2017. Horan put out his second solo album, Heartbreak Weather, in 2020. His millions of fans love it.

Horan returned the love to his millions of supporters on June 2, 2021 to kick off Pride Month. He shared an all-caps statement: “Happy Pride Month, beautiful people.”

The star continued: “It’s your life, love who you want to love. #Pride.” The star has been vocal about his belief in social justice causes before, and this is only another instance of Horan showing how much he cares about others.

He also starred in the 2013 tour documentary film One Direction: This Is Us and in the next year, One Direction: Where We Are The Concert Film. One Direction released four perfumes as well.

In 2016, Horan co-founded Modest! Golf, a golf management company for athletes. He has made his love for golf very clear to his fans and even recently collaborated with the athletic brand Gym+Coffee. Horan announced that he invested in the Irish brand.
