Nicki Minaj is at the center of controversy after expressing hesitancy about the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine while citing a story about her cousin. In the middle of the backlash on Twitter that Minaj soon experienced, Meghan McCain also reacted to the tweet. The former The View co-host is familiar with expressing unpopular opinions but she was probably not expecting a reply from the rapper herself.

What claims did Nicki Minaj make about her cousin?

Minaj shocked the world when she told a story about her cousin in Trinidad about the coronavirus vaccine. The “Starships” hitmaker has over 22 million followers on Twitter and her tweets always go viral for talking candidly. Minaj recently expressed wanting to take over Andy Cohen’s job as the host of The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 6 reunion, which was well-received by fans.

However, the tweet that she made on September 13 had everyone divided because of how scandalous the story was.

“My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent,” she claimed on Twitter. “His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied.”

Minaj would go on to cite on another tweet that to attend the Met Gala one would have to get vaccinated, which she didn’t think was worth getting the shot to go to the event. The rapper didn’t say if she was invited or if she denied going because of the vaccine requirement. However, added that she would get vaccinated once she felt she had “done enough research”.

“I’m working on that now. In the meantime my loves, be safe. Wear the mask with 2 strings that grips your head & face. Not that loose [sic] one,” she suggested.

Meghan McCain reacts and Nicki Minaj returns the diss

The backlash to Minaj’s story about her cousin in Trinidad soon followed. Among the celebrities that reacted to Minaj was former The View co-host McCain who added a snarky comment to Minaj’s tweet.

“That’s entirely enough internet for today,” McCain quote tweeted.

What McCain was probably not counting on is that Minaj would actually read her tweet and fire back at her.

“Eat sh– you,” Minaj clapped back.

In the subsequent tweets that Minaj published after her cousin’s alleged experience, the star recommended some people to get the vaccine but those messaged seemed to have gotten lost in all the commotion.

“A lot of countries won’t let [people] work [without] the vaccine. I’d [definitely] recommend they get the vaccine. They have to feed their families. I’m sure I’ll b vaccinated as well cuz I have to go on tour, etc,” she tweeted.

Minaj also expressed that the story about her cousin was supposed to be a secret but after the tweet went viral, they might have heard about it in the news. The rapper updated her fans that her cousin was texting her.

“My #cousin who has #TheFriend just texted me telling me to call him. Bites Nails Ugh! You idiots!!! If he saw this on the news it’s all your fault!!! It was supposed to be a secret Zipper-mouth faceWoozy faceTired face. If either of them ask, u ain’t heard it from me. Okay?” she tweeted.
