When rumors emerged that Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion were working on a song, attention almost immediately shifted to Nicki Minaj.

Aware of her feud with Cardi B, fans wondered how Nicki Minaj would feel about her “Hot Girl Summer” collaborator teaming up with her nemesis. In a recently-published interview, the Pink Friday rapper shared some thoughts on Megan Thee Stallion and had all good things to say, despite her collaboration with Cardi B.

Nicki Minaj’s comments about Megan Thee Stallion are all love

In a Variety interview published on Aug. 5, Nicki Minaj spoke lovingly about the “Savage Remix” rapper and praised her for exceeding expectations.

“One of my favorite things about Meg is her desire to further her education,” she explained, referring to Megan Thee Stallion’s studies at Texas Southern University, where she is finishing up an undergraduate degree in health administration in hopes of opening senior living facilities in her native Texas.

“It’s so important for women to feel inspired to achieve goals outside of social media, where the focus is usually placed on their bodies or who they’re dating at the time,” Nicki Minaj continued. “Women are more than just baby mamas, and we can continue to prove that by being goal-oriented, bettering ourselves, and being independent. Megan is the perfect example that we can have fun and be smart at the same time,” she added.

The interview was published just under a month after reports surfaced in early July that Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B had a song coming.

Many fans reacted negatively to the news, calling out Megan Thee Stallion and questioning her loyalty due to Nicki Minaj’s feud with Cardi B. As many know, the “MotorsSport” rappers have a longstanding beef that peaked in September 2018 when they got into a brawl at a party during New York Fashion Week. But Megan Thee Stallion previously said in an August 2019 interview with iHeartRadio that she liked both rappers and would love to work with both of them.

Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B’s song released to huge fanfare

At midnight on Aug. 7, the rappers released their highly-anticipated song “WAP” along with an accompanying music video. It immediately took over the Internet and surged to the top of Twitter’s trending topics list for its bold lyrics and stunning visuals, which featured the likes of Kylie Jenner and Normani.
