Nicole Scherzinger rose to fame as the front woman of The Pussycat Dolls. The all-female group had several hits back in the 2000s, but they didn’t last forever. However, Scherzinger made quite a name for herself in their several years in the spotlight. But how much is the former Pussycat Doll worth now that the band has split up?

The female group was formed back in 2003 and had several major hits

The Pussycat Dolls originally started as a burlesque troupe in 1995 but became a music franchise back in 2003. The group starred five females with Scherzinger at the forefront. In 2005, the group released their debut album, which featured songs such as “Don’t Cha,” and “Stickwitu.” The female group achieved international fame, and their third single, “Beep,” reached No. 2 on the United Kingdom charts.

After 2005, the group didn’t have a hit for a couple of years. Then, in May 2008, they released “When I Grow Up,” which put them back on top. However, their second album didn’t do as well as their first.

Tensions rose as Scherzinger became the only band member with a voice

As the band achieved more and more fame, tensions began to rise among the members. Scherzinger quickly became the face of the group as well as the only band member who consistently sang. The other women began to feel suppressed by the attention Scherzinger received, and some said later in interviews that they weren’t even allowed to speak during band discussions — only Scherzinger was allowed. Back in 2009, Entertainment Weekly published an article detailing an outburst on stage from one of the band’s members, during which she thanked her family for supporting her “even though I’m not featured.” The comment appeared to be a dig at producers’ obsessions with Scherzinger.

Eventually, the group split and Scherzinger pursued her own career path

Over time, the tension became a lot for the group to handle. With Scherzinger the only member with any say, the other women began to get tired of the lack of attention. Eventually, the band split up, and Scherzinger went solo. However, her career didn’t take off the way some thought it would. She released the album Her Name is Nicole, but it wasn’t a hit with the Pussycat Dolls fans. She flew under the radar for most of the 2010s.

Today, she’s a member of the panel on ‘The Masked Singer,’ which premiered in early January

The Masked Singer is a show on Fox network, which allows celebrities to perform undercover and leaves the panel to judge who they are. The show premiered in early January to successful ratings, and Scherzinger is one of the panel’s three members. She works alongside Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, and Robin Thicke. There was a lot of publicity surrounding the show when it debuted, and Scherzinger was featured on morning shows such as Good Day New York to discuss her new role.

Scherzinger is worth about $12 million

Over more than a decade, Scherzinger has accumulated a net worth of about $12 million. She was the highest paid member of The Pussycat Dolls, and although her solo career never took off, she still brings in royalties from those girl-group days. The amount she earns from The Masked Singer hasn’t been disclosed, but it’s possible the singer’s net worth will go up if the show continues to take off.
