Nikki Bella Said She and Her Ex John Cena ‘Will Be Tied Forever’
Reality star Nikki Bella recently welcomed her first child, son Mateo, with Dancing with the Stars pro Artem Chigvintsev. Not to be outdone, her twin sister, Brie Bella, also delivered a baby boy within the same 24 hours.
Moving on from her high-profile romance with John Cena, Bella is preparing to head down the aisle with Chigvintsev. Though Cena just married Shay Shariatzadeh in October, Bella remarked she and the Train Wreck star will always be in each other’s lives.

Shortly after welcoming her son on July 31, Bella received a phone call from her former fiancé.
“So with the baby, he reached out to Brie and I both,” Bella told Us Weekly. “We haven’t had an individual conversation in gosh, I don’t know how long, but it was very short and sweet!”
Despite Cena’s recent nuptials and Bella’s upcoming wedding, the reality star still considers her ex a part of her life due to their history together.
“John and I will be tied forever,” Bella said. “I get that, like, we had a public relationship on a reality show for six years. All I’ve ever wanted was for him to be happy. So, it makes me happy when I see that and, like, him kicking butt in the movie world and all that stuff. I love that!”

Many were taken off guard when Cena announced his nuptials last month with Shariatzadeh. Between his breakup with Bella and his past comments on marriage and children, no one was expecting the Blockers star to get hitched.
“I’ve been upfront about this,” Cena told Rolling Stone in 2016. “I just have things I need to get done. It’s not negotiable. We’ve been to therapy over it. I don’t think it will ever be over with. I’m stubborn as f*ck and extremely selfish as well. I don’t want kids, I don’t want marriage. That’s me just saying, ‘Hey, this is my life and this is how I’m going to live.'”
While Bella admitted to a bit of a struggle when she first saw pics of Cena with his new flame, she quickly got over her discomfort.
“You know when you get a text or you see a photo or you see your significant other flirt with someone or something, you know how you get those knots in your stomach that hurts?” she described, according to E! news. “You either want to poop your pants immediately… or you just have the craziest tummy ache, right? So neither of that happened to me when I saw the photos.”

With nationwide restrictions still in place due to COVID-19, Bella isn’t expecting to be putting on her wedding dress anytime soon. Chigvintsev also wants to ensure they have an event that provides them with special memories.
“At the end of the day, it’s a celebration and not just a thing you attend for the sake of attending,” the DWTS pro explained, as reported by E! News. “And both of us feel the same way about that. Once we can figure it out, what that would look like, I think it’s going to start moving quickly.”
Keeping busy with their newborn, the couple speculated on whether Mateo would be able to play a role in the ceremony. Though Chigvintsev would rather have a wedding sooner rather than later, Bella revealed their son may soon be fully capable in joining them in that walk down the aisle.
“The way he is, he might be walking,” Bella noted. “Brie and I walked at 9 months! He’s crazy freakishly strong.”
