Nintendo Direct February 2022 date, time, and length

As fans of Nintendo may recall, previous years have seen the company host some type of Direct every February. In some cases, it was a general event to discuss various upcoming video games. Other times, Nintendo focused on one highly-anticipated title, like the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct in February 2020.

This time around, Nintendo will go for a broader event. On Feb. 8, the company announced via Twitter that it would host a Nintendo Direct on Feb. 9 at 2 p.m. PT. For fans on the east coast, that’s 5 p.m. ET. Fans should make sure to double-check the time difference in their locations so they don’t miss the big reveals.

According to Nintendo, this event will last about 40 minutes long. That means it should be loaded with tons of exciting information about the year ahead!

Where to stream the newest Nintendo Direct

As always, Nintendo will host the livestream on its official YouTube channel.

The event is still more than a day away at this point, but eager fans can set a reminder to return to the video at the appropriate time. Or, there’s always the option to sit in front of the phone or computer for hours until the Direct finally begins. Either works.

Unfortunately, Nintendo has kept things vague, as usual, in terms of what fans will see during the event. According to the video, the February Nintendo Direct will focus on “Nintendo Switch games launching in the first half of 2022.”

Nintendo has a pretty packed year ahead, so that description could mean a number of things. For starters, it’s possible there will be more news regarding Kirby and the Forgotten Land, which launches on March 25. However, it’s also worth noting that Nintendo is celebrating Kirby’s 30th anniversary this year; the company could sneak in an announcement for another upcoming Kirby game or tease other Kirby 30 activities.

Otherwise, some early 2022 releases include Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp in spring 2022 and Splatoon 3 sometime this year. Release dates for these games could potentially be on the horizon.

Many fans of The Legend of Zelda have also waited months to hear updates on Breath of the Wild 2. Nintendo recently confirmed that the game has a “late 2022” release window, so the studio might hold any news for now. However, Nintendo is notoriously unpredictable, so there’s always a chance.
