After the success of Disney+ star Olivia Rodrigo‘s first two singles, “drivers license” and “deja vu,” she is releasing her debut album. The High School Musical: The Musical: The Series lead dropped hints at first to what the album’s name is. But she officially showcased the album title and artwork in new social media posts. Rodrigo also gave away the track titles for each song.

Olivia Rodrigo teased her album title before publicly naming it

Before announcing the name of her album, Rodrigo had shared a link to her merchandise store online. The digital store featured various items available for purchase that read *O*R. Many people theorized that that was actually the title of the album — given that “OR” are the initials for Rodrigo’s name.

She had already shared that the album would come out on May 21, after the success of both “drivers license” and “deja vu.” These two tracks were the album’s first two singles.

However, Rodrigo announced on April 13 the full title of her album and the song track names.

Olivia Rodrigo shared what her debut album title is called

Rodrigo posted tweets and an Instagram grid post revealing the name of her debut album. She shared that it’s called “SOUR.” The big reveal proved that the asterisks that were originally part of her merchandise were actually blocking out the full name of the album.

The singer’s album artwork showed her in front of a purple background, in a pink crop top and plaid bottoms. There were stickers covering her face, with butterflies, smiley faces, and flowers all over her cheeks and forehead. The album title “SOUR” was spelled out in letters on her tongue.

One thing that has emerged alongside Rodrigo’s stardom is her friendship with Taylor Swift. On the album cover, you can see that she’s wearing the ring that Swift gave her, per PopSugar.

“She is absolutely the kindest individual in the whole world,” Rodrigo told Sirius XM Radio in an interview about Swift. “Literally like 12 hours ago, I got a package from her with this like handwritten note. And she gave me this ring ’cause she said she wore one just like it when she wrote Red and she wanted me to have one like it and all of this amazing stuff, she’s like hand-wrapped these gifts.”

The star continued: “I truly don’t understand where she finds the time, first of all, but also I feel so lucky that I was born at the right time to be able to look up to somebody like her. She’s incredible and all of her support, genuine compassion, and excitement for me has been so, so surreal.”
