One Chicago fans know that Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. exist in the same universe. Several characters in these different shows are actually siblings, and they cross over from time to time. Detective Jay Halstead from Chicago P.D. and Dr. Will Halstead from Chicago Med are brothers, and fans want to see them together more often.

Will and Jay Halstead are brothers in the One Chicago franchise

Jay and Will Halstead are brothers who grew up in the South Side of Chicago. Their mother died of cancer and neither brother has an especially good relationship with their father Pat. Jay never really reconciles with his father, though Will does in the future.

Will is the oldest brother played by Nick Gehlfuss. He becomes the ED supervising attending physician at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center. His younger brother Jay is a detective in Hank Voight’s Intelligence Unit. In earlier seasons, fans got to see the brothers interact in crossover episodes a lot more often.

Fans want to see the Halstead brothers together more often

It’s been a while since One Chicago has had a big crossover episode, and fans are ready for it to happen again. In particular, they want to see Will and Jay back together. One fan even suggested a spinoff series focusing on the two.

“Does anyone else *really* want a Jay and Will mini-series?” they wrote on Reddit. “Like, with the ways things are looking, Jay will probs be off Chicago P.D. by the end of the season and Will is in the perfect place to leave Med for at least a little bit.”

Other fans aren’t ready for Jay and Will to leave their respective One Chicago shows, but would definitely enjoy seeing the brothers together more often. “Idk about a mini-series but I’d love to see more of them together being ya know brothers lol. I mean even when Jay was shot we didn’t see like any Will,” another fan wrote.

“I miss how in the earlier seasons Jay would be on Med a lot more often, you almost never see them together anymore,” a Reddit user agreed. NBC has not completely ruled out the possibility that Jay could make an appearance in Chicago Med Season 7.

Wolf Entertainment teased Jay could show up in ‘Chicago Med’ Season 7

There are still quite a few episodes to go in Chicago Med Season 7, and it’s definitely possible that Jay could show up and reunite with his brother. Wolf Entertainment tweeted a message on Nov. 3, 2021 that may have hinted at this reunion.

“Perhaps @jesseleesoffer will pop over to #ChicagoMed soon?” the tweet read. The brothers have been through a lot together, including the death of their father. In one episode of Chicago Med, Jay encourages Will to rat on an old family friend, which results in Will getting kidnapped. Luckily, Jay is able to track him down.

The brothers have a great dynamic when they are together in One Chicago, and hopefully, fans will get to see more of the duo together again.
