One Direction Reunion Might Be Happening Sooner Than Fans Think, According to This Theory on TikTok
While One Direction has been on a hiatus since the band’s 2015 album Made in the A.M., a new fan theory on TikTok could point to a possible reunion. The band members who were part of One Direction at the time of the hiatus — Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Liam Payne — have all spoken about how much the band has meant to them and their careers.
Zayn Malik, who was part of the band for the first four albums, departed the group in March 2015 to lead a more “private life.” But fans will be excited to hear this new theory on TikTok that could indicate the band is back together.

One Direction began as a group on The X Factor in 2010. All of the boys auditioned as solo acts but were put together in a band when Simon Cowell saw something in them as a group. Despite not winning The X Factor, the band garnered a cult following among teens during their time on the show. This fan devotion, mixed with innate talent that was also cultivated, made for a recipe of success.
The band created four albums as the initial five-person group: Up All Night, Take Me Home, Midnight Memories, and Four. Following Four, Malik left, and the group created Made in the A.M. as a four-person band.
But after the fifth album, One Direction announced an “18-month” hiatus that has lasted six years. Styles, Tomlinson, Payne, and Horan have pursued individual endeavors after the band’s hiatus.

A fan on TikTok connected Horan’s latest Instagram post with other pictures and Easter eggs pertaining to the band members. The theory references a photo in Horan’s slideshow post. In it, you can see a sticker on a wall that is identical to one that can be seen in a photo of Payne, as well.
The TikTok also suggested that a guitar in Horan’s picture looks like Styles’. Furthermore, if you zoom in on the picture, you can see the Made in the A.M. album artwork. And, the fan thinks that the piano in the photo is the same as the one used to write Made in the A.M. The fan thinks that shoes seen in the picture belong to Payne, as well.

The fan theory stems from Horan’s recent post on Instagram. He shared a series of pictures, captioning it, “Dump,” starting with a mirror selfie. The second in the post is Horan playing the piano.
Then, the third picture is what the TikTok theory is mostly built on. Horan’s fourth pic shows another selfie, but this time, with sunglasses on. His fifth photo shows the guitars on the wall and albums you can zoom in on to see Made in the A.M. Horan’s sixth picture in the series is him standing in what appears to be a music studio. The last photo is a mirror picutre taken from a car.
Could this be the moment — a One Direction reunion — that fans have waited years for?
A booking agent told Express that chances are high that One Direction will reunite in 2021: “Little things throughout the year have suggested 1D are keen to reunite, and if there’s ‘One Thing’ that does look likely in 2021, it’s that the band will be getting back together.”
