As of January 2022, One-Punch Man Season 3 has no anime release date or if the show could even return. One-Punch Man took the anime world by storm when season 1 released in 2015. Season 2 disappointed a lot of fans with the dip in quality, though. The show has still proved successful enough for another season, but that leaves fans hoping that One-Punch Man Season 3 receives better treatment, like being handed over to My Hero Academia and Mob Psycho 100 Studio Bones.

One Redditor said if ‘One-Punch Man’ does not have better animation, their ‘disappointment will be immeasurable’

In the years since fans last saw Saitama and Genos, the anime world has grown and changed, One Piece reached 1000 episodes, Netflix announced a Scott Pilgrim anime, and One-Punch Man Season 3 still has very little news. Fans have not even heard if the anime might return at all, though.

Fans on Reddit know the announcement can come at any time, though. They just want to see Saitama take on the hero killer Garou in a higher quality than season 2.

“If Season 3/4 isn’t animated by an amazing studio my disappointment will be immeasurable,” The Redditor posted. “ONE & Murata deserve it.”

The original creator, ONE, and manga artist Murata have poured all their effort into crafting a unique story that subverts anime and action tropes in a story unlike any other.

In a world where even Marvel’s Iron Man has an anime, the unique stories deserve the highest treatment.

One Redditor wants to see ‘One-Punch Man’ Season 3 handled by ‘Mob Psycho 100’ and ‘My Hero Academia’ Studio Bones

More Redditors then jumped in the comments of the post. Many then said Studio Bones, which handled Mob Psycho 100, should animate One-Punch Man Season 3.

“My personal preference: Studio Bones! The same crew that’s doing Mob Psycho 100,” the Redditor said. “They know and love ONE’s works, they work well with ONE, they are really creative technically and when they want to, they do amazing action with crisp, crisp, crisp choreography.”

Studio Bones has been responsible for some of the most well-received anime shows in recent history. They took on everything from the romantic comedy Ouran High School Host Club to the intense Fullmetal Alchemist, and even the wildly popular Mob Psycho 100 and My Hero Academia.

“If there’s one thing OPM needs, it’s as much attention to the why and the so-what of what is happening, not just the hits and the explosions. Studio Bones will definitely deliver,” the Redditor continued.

While most anime with action focuses on fights, weapons, and several swords, Saitama experiences most of his growth in One-Punch Man outside of combat.

Other Redditors fantasized about getting Toei Animation, MAPPA, or Ufotable for Saitama and Genos’ next season

Several comments had their own ideas apart from having the Mob Psycho 100 Studio Bones handle One-Punch Man Season 3.

“Imagine we get season 3 made by Toei,” one Redditor fantasized. Toei made some of the most successful animes, including bringing Goku in the Dragon Ball, Luffy and Nami in One Piece, and even Sailor Moon to TV.

Other fans pitched Attack on Titan: The Final Season studio MAPPA, or Ufotable, who animated Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

At the end of the day, all fans want to see One-Punch Man Season 3 live up to its potential. If it can match the amazing storying telling from ONE and art from Murata, fans can rest.
