Adam and Danielle Busby’s all-girl quintuplets have taken TLC by storm. Outdaughtered follows the Busby family as they navigate life with six young girls — and it isn’t easy. Sitting down for a meal, getting them ready for bed, and everything in between makes parenthood far more difficult for Adam and Danielle than for most parents. How old are their kids now?

Adam and Danielle Busby had the first set of all-female quintuplets in the country

When TLC announced that they were bringing another show about a large family to their network, it was hard to tell whether we were excited for it or rolling our eyes. The network was previously home to shows such as 19 Kids and Counting and Jon and Kate Plus 8, both of which were canceled following a sexual abuse scandal and a divorce, respectively. But with the Busbys, it’s different. They had the first all-female set of quintuplets in the country, and it’s hard not to love the little girls the moment they pop up on the television screen. Adam and Danielle seem level-headed, so despite the stress that comes with such a large family, they’re in it for the long haul.

The couple has an older daughter, Blayke, who is 8

The couple’s first daughter, Blayke, celebrated her eighth birthday in April. Blayke took a back seat once the quints were born, since so many new babies required so much parental attention. However, Danielle and Adam, plus their extended family, do their best to make Blayke feel important. Now that she’s getting older, she’s becoming more of a helper around the house, which is great for her parents, since it’s hard enough to do it with only two people. It probably feels good for Adam and Danielle to have one more person they can count on to help care for the younger ones.

The quintuplets turned four in April

While it seemed that the quints would never graduate from their terrible twos, believe it or not, they just celebrated their fourth birthdays in April (Blayke’s and the quints’ birthdays are only three days apart). They’re well into their toddler stage now, with only a little more than a year until they start kindergarten. While that will be a major relief for Adam and Danielle, they might choose to have the kids go late, depending on the pace at which they’re all developing. The episode airing June 25 takes a look at the quints’ learning development, so we might get an answer then about whether they’ll start kindergarten on time or not.

Raising the children has put a strain on the couple

Adam and Danielle seem to be going strong, but having so many kids definitely hasn’t made things easy for the two. Adam was struggling with his mental health for a while, which subsequently had an effect on the couple’s happiness. They appear to have climbed out of that hole, but dealing with so many kids is enough to stress anyone out to the point where their relationship doesn’t work. It’s good to see that Adam and Danielle are working together on both their relationship and their family. Hopefully, as the kids grow up, things will only get easier for them.
