Carlacia Grant joined the ‘Outer Banks’ cast in season 2

Netflix first introduced Outer Banks fans to Cleo at the beginning of season 2. She’s a young woman aboard the ship that saves John B. (Chase Stokes) and Sarah Cameron (Madelyn Cline) from the tropical storm in the season 1 finale. “A Nassau girl and formidable artful dodger,” Cleo instantly fits in with John B. and the Pogues.

Like John B., Cleo is a survivor who had to learn to live independently from a young age. Captain Terrance (Terence Rosemore) took her under his wing and helped her, but she doesn’t trust him wholly.

In the end, Cleo sides with Sarah and John B., cutting ties with Terrance and helping the duo escape from the Bahamas. At the conclusion of Outer Banks Season 2, Cleo becomes one of the Pogues.

‘Outer Banks’ Season 3 will ‘bring everything together’

“It’s all going to make sense,” Grant told Hollywood Life. “There’s going to be a lot of things that maybe haven’t been explained that are going to be explained [in season 3].”

Grant elaborated that the new episodes will tie into the first two seasons and address “everything teased” previously. She didn’t get specific, but we have a few ideas about the Outer Banks plot points she’s referring to.

She also said the Outer Banks cast group chat “went crazy” after they got the scripts for the first two episodes of the new season. “The group texts were going off!” she teased, adding:

“It’s unexpected for real! The twists and turns that are going to happen, it’s so unexpected.”

Cleo will ‘evolve’ in ‘Outer Banks’ Season 3

At the end of Outer Banks Season 2, Cleo officially joined the Pogue life. After successfully escaping the evil Camerons, Cleo and the rest of the Pogues start anew on Poguelandia, the island they’re deserted on.

According to Grant, Cleo will “evolve” in season 3 of Outer Banks. “For me, playing Cleo is second nature at this point,” she explained to Hollywood Life.

She continued: “What’s fun is that we’re all really friends, behind the scenes. It’s the best thing to literally work with your friends and hang out and mess around.”

‘Outer Banks’ fans question some of the Netflix series’ plot points

At this point, it’s unclear what will be explained in Outer Banks Season 3. But fans have found a lot of plot holes throughout the first two seasons of the Netflix series.

Firstly, some fans took issue with how freely the $400 million in gold was moved around. Then there’s the issue of how Scooter Grubbs (David Ury) ever got the information about Big John Rutledge back to his wife if he died in a storm on the way home.

Later in season 2, Outer Banks fans took issue with how quickly Sarah and John B. recovered from their injuries — a gunshot wound and alligator bite, respectively. Moreover, Ward Cameron’s (Charles Esten) confession about killing Sheriff Peterkin (Adina Porter) freed Rafe Cameron (Drew Starkey) from prison, despite his fingerprints on the weapon.

Will season 3 make sense of this? Only time will tell.
