Brianna and Claire get a rude awakening at the beach

Jamie (Sam Heughan) puts his plan in motion to meet up with Bonnet as a whiskey salesman. The only problem is that Bonnet doesn’t show, but has his men come in his place. He’s instead stalking Brianna and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) after he sees them in Wilmington.

Bonnet threatens Claire with a knife and Brianna refuses to leave her mother and run when she insists. Brianna picks up a pistol and aims it at Bonnet. Claire manages to get away and Bri tries to shoot the gun, but it jams. Bonnet knocks Claire out and takes Brianna with him to his home.

Brianna tries to manipulate the situation in her favor

When Brianna realizes what’s going on, she quickly learns she needs to try and manipulate the situation to her advantage. She tries reading to Bonnet, which seems to soothe him for a while. He insists he wants Bri to teach him how to act in polite society. He also wants his son, Jeremiah. Brianna tries to get out of the situation by asking to go get Jemmy, and Bonnet asks her to seal their agreement with a kiss. When she kisses him, he explodes with anger saying that isn’t a real kiss.

Bonnet decides to sell Brianna to a man who has his hands all over her. When he takes her to the boat to depart, Brianna’s parents get there just in time to stop Bonnet. Roger (Richard Rankin) races after Bonnet and punches him again and again. They subdue him, and Brianna insists he should be put to the law.

Brianna faces her past

Next we see Bonnet half-submerged in water and tied to a post. He’s been sentenced to die by drowning. Brianna allows the water to rise further before finally shooting Bonnet dead. Her nightmare ordeal is over and she knows he’ll never be able to hurt her or her son again.

Brianna faced her past in Bonnet and all the trauma he caused her. She made it out on the other side of it a survivor who takes his life in the end. Her father and her husband wanted to be the ones to kill him, but she did it herself. It was something she needed to do and it was a long time coming. Now Bri and Roger can put this all behind their family. They have a bright future ahead of them and Bonnet is no longer looming behind them.

Episode 10 brought a conclusion to a situation that’s been coming for a long time. Hopefully Brianna continues to live her life in the present without regrets.
