Starz‘s P-Valley is headed back to our screens. The innovative drama series is set in the fictional town of Chucalissa, Mississippi. The show follows the exotic dancers of mega-popular strip club The Pynk and the club’s owner, Uncle Clifford (Nicco Annan).

Season 1 chronicled Uncle Clifford’s debt struggles and her relationship with Lil Murda (J. Alphonse Nicholson). The series also followed the club’s headliner Mercedes (Brandee Evans) as she planned to retire and open her own dance studio. However, things changed for everyone when newcomer Autumn Night (Elarica Johnson) came stumbling into the club one night.

Now, some brand new characters will be joining the series.

What will ‘P-Valley’ Season 2 be about?

When we last left The Pynk, Autumn saved it from closing, Mercedes’ dream of opening a dance studio was stolen from her, Keyshawn (Shannon Thornton) rejected Diamond (Tyler Leply) for her abusive boyfriend, and Uncle Clifford and Lil Murda went their separate ways.

Now in season 2, we’re going to see a war of wills between Autumn and Uncle Clifford. “She came in getting her a** smacked on the dance floor and now, she has some ownership in the club,” Hall explained to ELLE. “The power dynamics at the club have completely changed and to see Uncle Clifford and Hailey fight over the throne will be stuff of legends.”

Moreover, Mercedes is going to have to find the will to start over. “You’re going to see a lot of things that happen outside the club this season, making it humanizing as well because everyone has a life when they go home from their job and so do these women and these men in the club as well,” Evans told Gold Derby.

New cast members have joined the cast for season 2

Season 2 will also see a series of new cast members. It had been previously announced that The Chi‘s Rolando Boyce had been cast as a Chucalissa native named Julian.  Miracle Watts has joined the cast as a woman involved with Diamond and Growing Up Hip Hop star Jhonni Blaze told The Breakfast Club she was involved with the show.

Shadow and Act is now reporting that both Gail Bean and Psalms Salazar have joined the series in key roles. Salazar will play Whisper, “an enigmatic free spirit with a spooky streak who speaks in riddles and eerie truths. She’s blessed with a direct line to the universe and sight beyond the earthly realm. The air to Roulette’s fire, Whisper becomes a full-blown tornado when she hits the pole.”

Bean will star as Roulette “a feisty wild child who truly lives up to her name—she’s taking major risks and breaking allllll of Uncle Clifford’s rules. Like fire, she’s dangerous, unpredictable, and uncontrollable—but dazzling to watch. On and off the pole, she’s turning The Pynk upside down.”
