P-Valley is one of the most thrilling drama series on television. Set in Chucalissa, Mississippi, the Starz series unveils a world never seen before on TV. The show centers on the popular strip club, The Pynk which is thriving in the middle of the Bible Belt.

Uncle Clifford (Nicco Annan), the club’s gender-non-conforming owner, anchors the show as she deals with her dancers and the club’s ever-growing financial issues. In addition to Clifford, there is Autumn (Elarica Johnson), a mysterious newcomer running from her past, and Mercedes (Brandee Evans), the club’s headliner, who is primed for retirement.

Along with everything going on in season one of the show, Clifford also embarked on a romance with Lil Murda (Alphonse Nicholson), a closeted rapper on the verge of making it big. One scene between the pair was so magical; Titanic inspired it.

When will ‘P-Valley’ Season 2 premiere?

The second season of P-Valley has been delayed amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, filming is set to begin in Atlanta in June 2021. This means that Starz will most likely set a premiere date for early 2022.

Now that Autumn and Uncle Clifford co-own The Pynk and Mercedes’ retirement plans have been thwarted, things are about to change drastically only the show.

“[Autumn/Hailey} came in getting her a** smacked on the dance floor and now, she has some ownership in the club,” series creator Katori Hall explained to ELLE. “The power dynamics at the club have completely changed and to see Uncle Clifford and Hailey fight over the throne will be stuff of legends.”

Will Uncle Clifford and Lil Murda rekindle their romance?

When Uncle Clifford and Lil Murda began their romance, Clifford was hesitant because she knew that Lil Murda was not open about his sexuality. However, the rapper assured her that she was ready. Unfortunately, he was not, and he readily rejected Clifford in the final episode of the season.

Now, fans are desperate to see if things can work out between the pair. “Everybody needs love. And I think that that’s a part of what gave Clifford the energy or the strength to endure another day,” Annan told Entertainment Weekly.

However, he’s not certain what’s in the cards for Clifford and Lil Murda. “That part I’m waiting to find out myself,” he said. “I anticipate being back to work when it’s good and hot.”

One scene in ‘P-Valley’ Season 1 was inspired by ‘Titanic’

Even if things don’t work out between Lil Murda and Uncle Clifford, fans will always remember the magical moment the pair had in Uncle Clifford’s car. Hall said Titanic inspired her to shoot the scene.

“Yeah, so romantic,” Hall told Thrillist. ” This is what this show loves to do. We love to take things that people think they know, whether the steamy Titanic window shot or the down-low Black men, and we just turn everything on its head whether it’s an image or a character. And so in terms of where we leave them, we leave them in a very precarious place. The fact that Lil Murda ignores Uncle Clifford when this opportunity arises in the body of this homophobic manager. The fact that he pushes Uncle Clifford away, very subtly but very firmly, is a reflection of the world in which he knows he’s operating within. It’s just this knee-jerk reaction that happens in the moment when he is instantly sorry about it. It’s because I think he loves Uncle Clifford.”
