The doors to The Pynk will reopen in just a few more months. It’s been a long wait for the second season of P-Valley, Starz‘s hit series following the operations at a Mississippi strip club. But it won’t be too much longer. The show’s official Twitter has announced that P-Valley Season 2 will be out in June.

In the clip, we see P-Valley cast members such as Elarica Johnson (Autumn), Nicco Annan (Uncle Clifford), Brandee Evans (Mercedes), Shannon Thornton (Keyshawn), and J. Alphonse Nicholson (Lil’ Murda), teasing a big announcement. “P-Valley Season 2 is on its way!” says Annan. The words “P-Valley Season 2 returns this June” then appear across the screen.

“Y’all ready?” Annan asks. “Who are we kidding, we know y’all are ready,” Nicholson adds.

‘P-Valley’ Season 2 is ‘worth the wait’

Fans absolutely cannot wait until P-Valley returns. Centered around The Pynk nightclub, run by the gender-fluid, fashion-forward Uncle Clifford, the show was a huge hit upon its 2020 premiere. Starz even renewed it after just three episodes.

It’s been well over a year since the last episode aired, in September of 2020. Like most shows, P-Valley was delayed as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, but filming was finally able to begin in 2021. Show creator Katori Hall said at the time that P-Valley Season 2 would likely air in 2022, but she did not know when exactly.

“You know, we gotta wait for things that are marinated and good,” she told IndieWire. “But you know, we’re in the process of finishing up the writing. As a matter of fact, today is our last day in the writing room. And so [we’re] finishing up the last scripts and production is around the corner.”

It’s been a long process to bring the show back to the air, to say the least. But it sounds like it’ll be worth it.

“I can tell you that it’s going to be well worth the wait, and a lot of your questions will be answered,” Evans told BlackFilmandTV.com of season 2. “And so it’s a bigger rollercoaster ride to me. To me, it’s more emotional, it’s even more real, and I didn’t even think that was possible. But just very much more relatable and real. … It’s just going to be beautiful. Y’all, it is worth the wait, I’m telling you.”

Where the show left everyone

In the latest episode, Montavius tracked Autumn down to the club, where a fight broke out between them. A shot rang out, but it was not revealed who got hit.

“I think time will reveal what truly happened in the Paradise Room, but there are so many levels to what happened and what the cover-up is, and who has been a part of the cover-up,” Hall told Thrillist. “I’m just really excited to see how people react. Because that’s going to be the big question: Who shot Montavius? Is Montavius dead?”

We’ll find out when P-Valley Season 2 comes out. Remember, the show will be back in June.
