Created by Katori Hall, the series revolves around the inner workings of the fictional Mississippi strip club The Pynk. It features Elarica Johnson, Brandee Evans, Nicco Annan, and Tyler Lepley, among others, and achieved a rare 100% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

Unfortunately, it’s been a long wait due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, but finally, the release date is within arms reach. Here, find everything we know about P-Valley Season 2 so far.

‘P-Valley’ Season 2 to air in June

The show will return to Starz in June of 2022, almost two years after its latest episode. The cast of P-Valley announced the release date on March 1, in a video shared on the show’s Twitter. “Y’all ready?” asked Annan. “We waned the Pynk Posse to hear it first. So P-Valley Season 2 is on the way,” other actors added.

The best part is that there are more episodes this time around. As The Hollywood Reporter notes, season 2 will have 10 — an increase from last season’s eight episodes.

‘P-Valley’ Season 2 has been described as a ‘rollercoaster’

The latest episode of P-Valley ended on a major cliffhanger, with Montavius appearing to die in a scuffle at the club. The shooter was not revealed, but the question of who shot him will seemingly be one of the focuses of the new season.

“I can only say that the secret of what went down in the Paradise Room will bond Uncle Clifford, Mercedes, and Hailey forever,” Hall told Entertainment Weekly. “It remains to be seen if the Delta Devoted will come looking for Montavius in season 2.”

After the gun went off, the scene cut to the girls getting ready for a funeral, which was actually for The Pynk. Luckily, Autumn saved the club by outbidding Andre Watkins at the auction, effectively making her the co-owner of The Pynk.

“The power dynamics at the club have completely changed and to see Uncle Clifford and Hailey fight over the throne will be stuff of legends. Exciting!” Hall said of their new relationship. “Also, the fact that Mercedes will still be fighting the big Goliath in her life that is respectability politics. Will she be able to get her dance studio and custody of her daughter? Will she ever conquer her pimp-turned-pastor mother? Only time will tell.”

Evans, who plays Mercedes, told Gold Derby that it would be a “rollercoaster” ride for the characters as they each deal with personal problems. She also said it would go “beyond these ladies being naked and showing their bodies” to focus more on their lives outside of work.

The cast will include new and returning characters

In addition to all the favorites from P-Valley Season 1, there are also some new faces on the show. Shadow and Act reports that Snowfall actor Gail Bean will play a character named Roulette. Roulette is reportedly “a feisty wild child who truly lives up to her name—she’s taking major risks and breaking allllll of Uncle Clifford’s rules.” Psalms Salazar will be a fellow dancer named Whisper, described as “the air to Roulette’s fire.”
