P-Valley Season 2 is just around the corner and fans of the Starz drama series couldn’t be more thrilled. Set in the fictional town of Chucalissa, Mississippi, the first season chronicled the personal and professional lives of Uncle Clifford (Nicco Annan) and the girls who danced for her at her strip club, The Pynk.

Mercedes (Brandee Evans), one of the club’s veteran dancers was on the verge of retirement while newcomer Autumn (Elarica Johnson), was trying to find her place at the club. Now, their roles have switched and things are set to get very dark.

‘P-Valley’ Season 2 will debut on June 3

Almost two years after the series debuted in July 2020, P-Valley will launch its second season on June 3, 2022. Amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) in real life, and in the world of the series, things are going to look drastically different at The Pynk.

“It occurs five months after Autumn Night saves The Pynk,” creator Katori Hall said via YouTube. “Unfortunately, the pandemic has really come in and turned everything topsy turvy. it is a business based on gathering, it is a business based on intimacy. And, the writer’s room was totally inspired by the fact that there were some very inherent struggles in that. And so, it will be very interesting to see how Uncle Clifford and new boss b**** Autumn Night deal with this huge obstacle that’s been put in their way. So, between the casino and corona, they’ve got a lot of s*** to deal with.”

There might be some major deaths in ‘P-Valley’ Season 2

Starz finally dropped a teaser trailer for the second season of P-Valley and it has an ominous tone running across it. In fact, the snippets from the trailer and the official season 2 description hint at some deaths, or at the very least, some dark times ahead.

“When darkness descends upon Chucalissa, errybody and they mama must fight tooth and talon to survive,” the Starz description says. “While some take flight to perilous new heights, others dig in their stilettos and stand their ground no matter the cost. Back at The Pynk, Autumn and Uncle Clifford grapple for the throne as new blood shakes up the locker room. Meanwhile, with the casino’s fate hanging in the balance, the local political machine kicks into overdrive. In these unprecedented times, death and danger lurk around every corner.”

Will Mercedes rebuild her life?

From the look of the trailer, it looks like Mercedes has returned to The Pynk following her mother Patrice (Harriet D. Foy) stealing her life’s savings. Now that Autumn is a co-owner with Uncle Clifford, Mercedes will be competing with a brand new crop od dancers.

Miracle Watts has been cast as Big Bone. Psalms Salazar has been cast as Whisper and finally, Snowfall’s Gail Bean will portray Roulette, who is being described as “a tornado when she hits the pole.” Considering the trailer and what we know about Mercedes, she won’t take too kindly to this competition.

In fact, Evans says her character is going to be going through a very challenging time.

“You’re going to see a lot of things that happen outside the club this season, making it humanizing as well because everyone has a life when they go home from their job and so do these women and these men in the club as well,” Evans told Gold Derby.
