‘Unfiltered: Paris Jackson & Gabriel Glenn’ chronicles Jackson’s love life, music career

In her six-episode series, viewers learn about Jackson’s family, living in her father’s shadow, her personal struggles, and her romantic relationship.

The show also follows Jackson’s grind in the music business as one-half of The Soundflowers, the folk band she’s in with boyfriend, Gabriel Glenn.

The first episode introduced Glenn and some of Jackson’s inner circle. On July 21, episode 4 titled “Meet Paris’ Brothers” dropped on Facebook Watch, and featured Bhatti.

Jackson is Michael Jackson’s middle child, and she’s sandwiched in between 18-year-old Bigi and 23-year-old “Prince” Michael Jackson. But how does Bhatti fit into the mix?

Who is Paris Jackson’s brother, Omer Bhatti?

Bhatti, along with Prince, appeared in the episode to help Jackson make the first music video for The Soundflowers’ debut EP.

In an opening scene, he’s shown embracing Paris and introduced as the Jacksons’ older brother. “Omer is my oldest brother,” Jackson said with a smile.

Bhatti explained their relationship by stating Michael Jackson hired his mother to be Prince’s nanny, adding that he’s known Paris since she was a baby. “I would say I almost partly raised her. She’s my little sister in every way.”

Jackson added that all of her brothers are her best friends, but she and Bhatti have never gotten into an argument or fight.

Now 35, Bhatti was once considered Michael’s protégé, and he used to dress, dance, and perform like him. Bhatti, who is originally from Norway, met Jackson sometime in the late ‘90s. He and his parents lived at Neverland since the family worked for Jackson.

He stated when he was a child, the late singer mentored him for years. Bhatti said he viewed Jackson as a father figure. “It was a lot of joy for me as well because I also wanted younger siblings and I got that through Prince, Paris, and Bigi.” Bhatti currently works as a dancer and musician.

Omer Bhatti caused a media ruckus after Michael Jackson’s death

When Michael Jackson passed away in 2009, rumors about a “secret love child” began circulating in the media. Bhatti had a front-row seat at the star’s memorial service, and many believed it was because he was part of the family. Some made him out to be Jackson’s son.

According to ABC News, Jermaine Jackson addressed the speculation at the time by stating, “If Omer’s his son, he’s his son. We won’t deny it. We are going to give him the same love and care that we give Prince and Paris and Blanket. I can’t clearly say if he is Michael’s but I saw this kid around him.”

The outlet later reported Joseph Jackson suggested Bhatti was Jackson’s son. “Yes, I knew he had another son, yes I did,” the senior Jackson said. “He looks like a Jackson, he can dance like a Jackson. This boy is fantastic dancer — matter of fact, he teaches dance.”

In spite of the confusion, it’s confirmed that Bhatti is not Jackson’s child, but he’s always been considered part of the family. Catch the remaining episodes of Unfiltered: Paris Jackson & Gabriel Glenn each Tuesday on Facebook Watch.
