Pete Davidson referred to himself as a ‘diamond in the trash’ regarding his relationships

On Jan. 18, Davidson performed a stand-up set at the 9th Annual Patrice O’Neal Comedy Benefit Concert in New York City. During his performance, the SNL star addressed the speculation surrounding his dating history and his relationship with Kim Kardashian West.

“There seems to be a curiosity about me, is what my friends tell me,” the 28-year-old comedian said (via Us Weekly). “I was trying to figure out how to explain myself to someone because I was doing an interview.”

Davidson explained that he is like a movie you find in the discount DVD bin, comparing himself to films like Shrek Forever After and Tropic Thunder. He said that the latter is a “classic,” and it “doesn’t belong in the trash.”

He added, “I’m Tropic Thunder. I’m the diamond in the trash. It’s a steal.”

Kanye West slammed the comedian for dating Kim Kardashian West in a new song

While Pete Davidson’s dating life has generated a lot of attention, it hasn’t all been positive. The SNL star might compare himself to a “diamond in the trash,” but his current girlfriend’s ex, Kanye West, doesn’t seem to think the same.

The Donda rapper dropped the comedian’s name in a new song titled “Eazy.” West referenced a nearly fatal car accident he survived in 2002 before mentioning Davidson. He rapped, “God saved me from that crash/Just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s ass.”

A female voice asks, “Who?” right after West says Davidson’s name, implying that the comedian is unimportant. West released the new track while under investigation for battery following an incident where he admitted to punching a man who asked for an autograph.
