It’s been a wild season of Power Book II: Ghost already. The series resumed in November to show the aftermath of Professor Jabari Reynolds’ murder, finding Tariq St. Patrick working hard to ensure his and Cane Tejada’s involvement remains unfound. But, of course, there are various obstacles facing him.

Those who watched the latest episode are certainly looking forward to the next. But when does Power Book II: Ghost Season 2 Episode 6 air? It won’t be on on Sunday, Dec. 26, but here’s when it’ll be back.

‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 2 has paused for a mid-season break

Power Book II: Ghost aired its latest episode on Sunday, Dec. 19. It would usually release a new episode the following week, but now, it’s on a midseason break. Unfortunately, that means fans will have to wait a few weeks to find out what happens next with our favorite characters. Will Monet be able to keep her secret from Zeke? Will Lorenzo find out about Monet and Dante? And most importantly, will Tariq be able to free himself?

It’s almost agonizing to wait — even for showrunner Courtney Kemp. She said on Instagram Live, “It’s not my favorite. I don’t love that we have mid-season breaks, I wish we could just run it all the way through. But there has to be a mid-season break.”

Luckily, the show will be back on Jan. 9, 2022, at its usual time. In the meantime, fans can catch up on earlier episodes now on Starz.

The latest episode featured a shocker

In the latest episode of Power Book II: Ghost, detectives continued to investigate Jabari’s murder. Zeke Cross had been their primary suspect after police linked him to Jabari’s on-off girlfriend Carrie Milgram. But they were able to rule him out after new information surfaced.

Later, after coming across a draft of Jabari’s book, Kamaal Tate came to believe Jabari had based it on actual events and was killed as a result. He began focusing on Jabari’s students more closely and ultimately arrested Tariq for the murder after finding a key piece of evidence in his dorm room.

In the trailer for the next episode, Tariq argues that he’s being set up for murder. Monet seemingly needs money to help their family, but Diana used it to help Lorenzo get out of prison. Lorenzo, meanwhile, jumps back into grind mode, but Cane wants in this time as Mecca watches a scene from afar.

The countdown is on until the show returns in January. It will then run through February, followed by the inaugural season of Tommy Egan’s spinoff Power Book IV: Force, which premieres on Feb. 6, 2022.
