‘Power Book II: Ghost’: Diana Just Changed the Tejada Family Dynamic Forever
Power Book II: Ghost has expanded beyond Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.) in season 2. Now, Diana Tejada (LaToya Tonodeo) is proving that she can hold her own just like her brothers. While the Tejada brothers Cane (Woody McClain) and Dru (Lovell Adams-Gray) are fighting for their father’s approval, Diana is make her presence known in a different way.
Did Diana just change the Tejada family dynamic forever, or can it revert back to what it once was?
Diana Tejada has been rebelling in ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 2
As the only girl of the Tejada siblings, Diana was often shoved into the corner in favor of Dru and Cane. Though she wanted to go to college, her mother rejected her. However, things have changed drastically for Diana in season 2. “She wants to do her own thing. She wants to go to school,” Tonoedo told ABC Audio. “Her mom is like, ‘No, this is what you need to do. I’m teaching you the game so that you can take over.’ She definitely gets closer with Tyriq, but again, that is a little tricky because we are part of this family and we don’t let any and everybody in. So, I feel like you’ll get to see how close we allow him in, how close Diana will get to him.”
In an effort to make sense of everything that has gone on around her, Diana has unearthed several family secrets. But has she changed the family dynamic forever?
Diana just changed the Tejada family forever
In episode 208, “Drug Related” Diana exposed all of her family’s deepest darkest secrets. She’s aired out Cane for tricking the family into using him as their drug supplier. She also revealed that Dru still hasn’t gotten rid of his meddlesome boyfriend.
However, Diana’s biggest reveal has been Zeke’s parentage. She exposed the true year of his birth to his family while letting everyone know that he’s Monet’s secret son, not her nephew as everyone had previously thought. Now, Lorenzo (Berto Colon) has asked Monet to leave the family home, and Zeke has been left in dire straights.
Now that Diana has shown what she can do we think she has changed the Tejada family dynamic forever.
Will Diana and Tariq end up together?
Though we think Tariq and Effie (Alix Lapri) are a perfect match, the college student/ drug dealer appears to still be stuck on Lauren (Paige Hurd). Now, Diana is also in the picture and there is clearly some chemistry between the duo. We think that Tejadas will do everything in their power to keep Diana and Tariq apart, however, we believe they are driven toward one another because Diana reminds Tariq of his mother Tasha St. Patrick (Naturi Naughton).
in a recent Instagram Live, Power Universe creator Courtney Kemp explained that both Tasha and Diana have similarities. It’s one of the reasons why Tariq has some trust in Diana. Since Tasha is currently in witness protection and Tariq is desperately missing his mother, his connection with Diana could become even stronger.
However, now that Diana is starting to speak out for herself things could change.
