Power Book II: Ghost Season 2 has been full of jaw-dropping moments. Tariq St. Patrick’s (Michael Rainey Jr.) life on the streets has imploded onto his life as a college student. He has been accused of murdering professor Jabari Reynolds (Justin McManus), and his employer Monet Tejada (Mary J. Blige) has essentially iced him out of the business.

But episode 8 will be the most important episode of the season.

‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 2 Episode 8 will premiere Jan. 23

As we head toward the finale of season 2 Power Book II: Ghost has a ton of loose strings that need to be tied up. Tariq is about to go on trial for the murders of Jabari and NYPD Officer Ramirez. Not only does the college student’s freedom hang in the balance, so does the fate of his young sister Yasmine.

Meanwhile, Monet is watching her life crumble. With her husband Lorenzo (Berto Colon) out of prison, and her lover Mecca (Daniel Sunjata) determined to be a part of their secret son Zeke’s (Daniel Bellomy) life, Monet’s entire world is hanging into the balance.

Episode 8 which is titled “Drug Related” is set to push the season toward the season finale. The official description of the episode reads, “Davis advises Tariq on the best way to protect himself against Jenny, and Saxe questions what lines Davis crossed in doing so. Carrie realizes her own actions have put her students in harm’s way.”

Episode 8 is the most important of season 2

Fans of the Power Universe, from the original series to Ghost and Power Book III: Raising Kanan know that the eighth episode of every season is explosive. Power Universe creator Courtney Kemp says that “Drug Related” is the most important episode of this present season.

“A lot of Zeke’s backstory is going to come out in episode 8,” she explained in a recent Instagram Live. “Episode 8 is my favorite episode of the season, it’s the biggest episode other than episode 5, yall are in for a real treat next week and you’re going to get a lot of answers a lot of the questions you’ve been asking, specifically ones about the Tejada family timeline, what Monet did and when she did it. You’re going to get a lot of answers in an unexpected way.”

We already know a little bit about where Zeke grew up. On a previous Live, Kemp explained that Zeke was raised by Monet’s sister Lena. He had been told all of his life that his father was in prison. Apparently, fans will meet Lena in season 3, and she’s going to have a lot of feeling about what has been happening with her child.
