‘Power Book II: Ghost’: Is Monet Afraid of Lorenzo?
Lorenzo Tejada (Berto Colon) has been released from prison only to see his world implode on Power Book II: Ghost. Though his children Diana Tejada (LaToya Tonoedo), Cane (Woody McClain), and Dru (Lovell Adams-Gray) were thrilled to see him return home, his wife, Monet (Mary J. Blige) was less than pleased.
Now a dark secret from Monet’s past has been revealed, but is she scared of her husband’s reaction?
‘Power Book II: Ghost’ fans think that Lorenzo is just like Kanan
Now that he’s out of prison, Lorenzo has been trying to flex his authority. In fact, fans think he’s just like Kanan Stark (Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson).
“After watching the new episode I really think Lorenzo is like a Kanan level player who’s going to be a force,” a Redditor explained via Express. “He just came off a 10-year bid like Kanan and has that street knowledge but also that prison viscousness. He’s also like Kanan in that he’s fresh out and immediately wants to get the product and money flowing, the only difference is Lorenzo has way more of a support system with a family and everyone in place.”
Is Monet afraid of Lorenzo?
Before Lorenzo went to prison, it was clear that he ran the household. However, while he was in jail for a decade, Monet stepped up to the plate running the family business and taking a strong hand with her children. Now, during what should be a happy time, the life Monet has built just crashed around her. Her daughter Diana, just exposed some lifelong secrets that will change everything. With that, Power Universe creator Courtney Kemp has revealed if Monet is afraid of Lorenzo.
“In general, no she is not,” Kemp said during a recent Instagram Live. “However, in the dinner scene when he says, ‘You should go.’ I don’t know about you, but I would go because he is a killer and he just found out that I lied to him and all of our kids. It’s not a good look, I would leave.”
Will Lorenzo kill Monet?
Since loyalty and family are everything to Lorenzo, he’s going to have a really hard time reconciling the Monet he fell in love with versus the woman she actually is. Though he dismissed her from their home, some fans believe that he’s going to enact his revenge.
“Lorenzo has been calling the shots for the drug organization — even from inside,” the press release for his character reads. “But as Monet continues to flex her independence — and a desire to protect her kids from the game– Lorenzo’s need to control brings them into conflict. Lorenzo becomes intrigued by some secrets Monet has been keeping from him.”
Other fans believe that Tariq will use the division in the Tejada household to eliminate Monet and Lorenzo and take over their business. “As for Tariq, even though his dumba– choose to enter the game through will and manipulation, I feel that he will want out the game towards the end of Power and he will have to take out Monet and Lorenzo Tejada to do that since they basically own him and he’s their main moneymaker right now,” a Reddit user said via Express.
