The latest episode of ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ brought the truth about Monet and Zeke Cross to light

As viewers know, Monet is married to kingpin Lorenzo Tejada, with whom she shares three children: Cane, Dru, and Diana. It also turned out that she had Zeke Cross with her high school sweetheart, Dante, but she left her sister to raise him. Zeke grew up thinking Monet was his aunt, but the truth was finally exposed in the latest episode of Power Book II: Ghost.

Sensing Monet was hiding something, Diana eavesdropped on her and caught Monet whispering on the phone to Dante. The name rang a bell from a prior conversation with Zeke, and naturally, Diana became eager to learn more. Digging around for information, she wound up finding Zeke’s birth certificate and later exposed it during a heated conversation at dinner.

Monet was confronting Diana about her involvement with Tariq, only for Diana to flip the conversation back on her. “I’m not the only one f****** somebody I ain’t supposed to, Ma! How about the fact that you’re f***** some dude named Dante?” she snapped. “I’m sorry let me clarify real quick. I mean, Zeke’s dad.” She slapped the birth certificate on the table, and one of the final scenes was of Lorenzo’s angry face as he asked Monet to leave.

What’s the birth order of Zeke and the Tejada kids?

With that, it turns out that Zeke is Monet’s oldest child, born in 1998. She then had Cane in 1999, Dru in 2001, and Diana in 2002, according to their Fandom pages.

What happens next between them is anyone’s guess. But the revelation of Zeke’s parents is the ultimate betrayal and sets up major drama between Monet and her family.

Will ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ reveal who raised Zeke?

When it comes to the women who raised Zeke specifically, creator and showrunner Courtney Kemp previously said on Instagram Live that she initially planned to introduce her in Power Book II: Ghost Season 3. But she was unsure whether that would happen now that she’s moving on to work with Netflix, after signing an alleged eight-figure deal with the streaming giant in 2021 (via Deadline).

We’ll see whether she makes an appearance next season, but after such a betrayal, the least she could do is show up and talk to Zeke face-to-face. He deserves it.
