‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 2 Episode 9 Spoilers
Power Book II: Ghost Season 2 has been an absolutely jaw-dropping experience. Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.) has been charged with double murder and he’s been looking to pick apart the prosecutors’ case. Moreover, with their patriarch Lorenzo Tejada (Berto Colon) home, the Tejada crime family has been slowly unraveling. Now, Monet Tejada (Mary J. Blige) has watched the life she built, blow up in her face.
With just one episode of Ghost left until the season 2 finale, the penultimate episode is bound to be shocking.
When will ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 2 Episode 9 premiere?
Episode 208 of Ghost was perhaps the most explosive of the season. Carrie Milgram (Melanie Liburd) had her career, credibility and reputation destroyed. The Tejadas teamed up with Tariq, Effie (Alix Lapri), and Brayden (Gianni Paolo) to rob Mecca (Daniel Sunjata). That was only the beginning. Diana (LaToya Tonoedo) exposed all of her family’s secrets at the family dinner from hell.
She revealed her brothers’ secrets and lies and she revealed that her cousin Zeke (Daniel Bellomy) is actually her half-brother, the secret son of her mother Monet. The episode ended with Monet being asked to leave her own house and with the death of Carrie Milgram.
Luckily that wasn’t the last episode of the season. Episode 209 is expected to air on Starz and the Starz app on Jan. 30. The season finale will air on Feb. 6, 2022, just ahead of the debut of Power Book IV: Force.
Inside spoilers for ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 2 episode 9
Episode 209 is titled “A Fair Fight?” The official description of the episode reads, “Tariq’s fate lies in the hands of Tate. Monet’s choices feel out of her control. She must rely on Mecca to help salvage the pieces of her family. Mecca plays his hand to put Monet right where he wants her.”
It’s likely that we’re first going to learn more about Carrie’s death. Though it appears that she died by suicide, we think Monet, may also have had a hand in things. With her dead, the prosecutors are going to have issues convictingTariq. However, it looks like a disgruntled Rashad Tate (Larenz Tate) is willing to use his influence to get the college student locked up for good.
As far as Monet and her family, everything is in shambles and we have no clue how any of that is going to be fixed. However, we do think that Monet turning to Mecca is going to be a horrible idea.
Will Lorenzo kill Monet?
Now that Lorenzo knows some of the secrets that Monet has been hiding, we don’t think she’s going to be safe from his wrath. Fans are convinced that Lorenzo will kill Monet. After all, he’s obsessed with loyalty and family values. When Colon was promoted to series regular ahead of Ghost season 2, his character description was riddled with clues.
“Lorenzo has been calling the shots for the drug organization — even from inside,” the press release read. “But as Monet continues to flex her independence — and a desire to protect her kids from the game– Lorenzo’s need to control brings them into conflict. Lorenzo becomes intrigued by some secrets Monet has been keeping from him.”
