Tariq St. Patrick went scot-free for his father’s murder

Fed up with Ghost’s deceit, Tariq murdered him in cold blood in season six of Power, ambushing him with a gun at his nightclub, Truth. Ultimately, his mother, Tasha St. Patrick, took the fall for him so that Tariq could attend college and earn the inheritance left behind in his dad’s will.

Power Book II: Ghost follows Tariq as he begins his studies at Stansfield University. There, he begins to build his own drug empire so he can fund Tasha’s lawyer Davis Maclean.

It turns out that Maclean is secretly working with federal attorney Cooper Saxe to get Tasha off and to nail Tariq for the murder. But little does he know, Tariq has started to catch on to to the scheme.

Tariq St. Patrick has been summoned to court

In the Dec. 27 episode, Saxe summoned Tariq to court to testify in his mother’s trial, knowing that Tariq killed Ghost and could say something that could be used against him later. Tariq has been ready to confess the entire season if it means his mom will be released from jail. So he agrees and hires Tameika Washington as his defense attorney.

The two head to court in episode 10, which is titled “Heart of Darkness.” In the trailer for the episode, Tariq is seen on the stand, giving a sly, suggestive look to someone in the courtroom.

Is Tariq up to something?

“HE BOUT TO LIE LIKE HE AINT NEVER LIED BEFORE ..,” one person wrote on Twitter, earning over 6,000 likes.

“Tariq taking everyone down with him while exposing Saxe & Davis when he gets called up to the stand,” another fan tweeted alongside a clip from New Jack City (1991) when gangster Nino Brown snitched on an associate during his day in court.

Making similar claims, a third person posted a photo of Tariq saying, “This MF finna cap out his mind in that courtroom 😭.”

But who knows what will really happen. Find out when the season finale of Power Book II: Ghost airs at 8 p.m. ET on Jan. 3 on Starz.
