What has happened in ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 2?

So much has happened in the second season of Power Book II: Ghost. As far as Tariq is concerned, his work with the Tejadas has exploded into his life as a college student. Not only is he on trial for the murders of his professor Jabari Reynolds (Justin McManus) and an NYPD officer, he’s also lost his ex-girlfriend Lauren (Paige Hurd) and his sister Yasmine (Paris Morgan). Also, friendship with Brayden (Gianni Paolo) is hanging in the balance.

The Tejadas aren’t fairing much better. The patriarch Lorenzo (Berto Colon) has returned home from prison to a family he no longer recognizes. Cane (Woody McClain) has seemingly gone off the deep in. Dru (Lovell Adams-Gray), might not have what it takes to be his father’s right-hand man, and Diana (LaToya Tonodeo) is going head-to-head with Monet.

Moreover, Monet’s high school love Mecca (Daniel Sunjata) has returned and it’s been revealed that he and Monet are actually Zeke’s (Daniel Bellomy) biological parents.

The ‘Ghost’ Season 2 finale will be longer than an hour

The season 2 finale is titled “Love and War” and it looks like things will come to a head for Tariq and the Tejadas. The official episode description reads, “Tariq refuses to give up on his loved ones. Tariq must help Monet save her own family. Monet, finally seeing the whole board, must move quickly to protect her family from Mecca.”

This episode will be much meatier than previous episodes. It’s bound to give fans a ton of answers and have a bunch of cliffhangers. Starz announced that Power Book IV: Force, which is scheduled to debut premiere right after the Ghost season 2 finale won’t air until 9:15 PM. This means that the Ghost finale will likely extend well past the hour mark.

During a recent Instagram Live, Power Universe creator Courtney Kemp explained, “It’s not going to be longer than two hours but it’s a little long. It’s an hour and 10 minutes long.

‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 3 is currently filming in New York City

While fans are anticipating the season 2 finale of Ghost, season 3 has already begun filming in New York City. Very early on in the season, Starz renewed the highly-rated series. A new cast of characters has already been cast including, Lethal Weapon alum, Keesha Sharp. According to Deadline, Sharp will portray Professor Harper Bonet, “a progressive intellectual and boho beauty.”

Tonodeo spilled the beans that season 3 was underway during a recent Instagram Live with Power Universe creator Courtney Kemp. During their chat, the creator/writer/ producer also asked Tonodeo how her first day back filming was. Tonodeo responded that everything went really smoothly.
