‘Power Book II: Ghost’: Will Lorenzo and Mecca Meet?

For more than a decade, Monet Tejada (Mary J. Blige) has kept her family afloat. Now on Power Book II: Ghost, her husband Lorenzo Tejada (Berto Colon) has been released from prison. To further complicate things, Monet has been having an affair with her high school sweetheart Mecca (Daniel Sunjata). Mecca is also the Tejadas drug supplier.

Determined to make a name for himself, Cane Tejada (Woody McClain), Monet, and Lorenzo’s eldest son tricked his family into going into business with Mecca. But will Lorenzo and Mecca finally meet?

Does Lorenzo know about Monet and Mecca’s affair?

Now that Lorenzo is home, he’s ready to step back into his role as head of the household, pushing Monet to the side. Though he was thrilled to come home at first, he’s starting to realize that there is something off about his wife. Using his intuition, we’re convinced that he will uncover Monet and Mecca’a affair immediately.

“The patriarch of the Tejada organization, Lorenzo has been calling the shots for the drug organization — even from inside,” the official Starz release reads. “But as Monet continues to flex her independence — and a desire to protect her kids from the game– Lorenzo’s need to control brings them into conflict. Lorenzo becomes intrigued by some secrets Monet has been keeping from him– and a conflict grows that threatens to split the Tejada family in two.” 

Since Mecca is also the Tejadas supplier, we’d say that a confrontation is imminent.

Will Lorenzo and Meeca meet in ‘Power Book II: Ghost’?

Since Lorenzo has only been released from jail, and Mecca thought he had Monet by his side, we didn’t think that a confrontation would come so soon. However, at the end of episode 206, “What’s Free,” Mecca told Cane (Woody McClain) that he wanted to meet his father.

From where we’re sitting an epic showdown is on the horizon and we’re not sure which side Monet will take.

Will Lorenzo kill Monet?

Though Monet has rejected all of Mecca’s plans, determined to give her family a chance now that Lorenzo is out of jail, we doubt things will go smoothly. After all, she’s also told Mecca to stay away from their son Zeke (Daniel Bellomy). However, Mecca is certainly not a man to do what he’s told. He’s also intricately involved in the Tejada family business since he’s also their connect.

Now that he’s agreed to meet Lorenzo, it’s only a matter of time before the Tejada kingpin uncovers all of his wife’s secrets. When he does, we’re very concerned for Monet’s well-being.

After all, Mecca doesn’t appear to have any qualms about revealing their affair.“ Mecca is just head over heels over Nene — that’s what he calls her,” Blige tells TVLine. “Like, that’s his girl. He gets sloppy when it comes to her.” She added,  “He’s in love with Monet. Monet is like, ‘I remember. I like you still.’ But he’s in love with Monet.”
