Power Book IV: Force is showcasing a new side of Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora). Following the death of his best friend and business partner, James “Ghost” St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick), Tommy left New York for a fresh start in Chicago. So far, he’s found himself entangled with the Irish mob, led by the Flynn family and Chicago Brothers Incorporated (CBI).

He’s also uncovered some secrets about his family and got his hands on a brand new drug. However, with just two episodes left in the season, Force is going on hiatus. When the series does return for episode 9, Tommy will have to turn to an unlikely ally.

Tommy Egan is 1 of the most complex characters in the ‘Power’ Universe

From the moment fans met Tommy in the pilot episode of Power, he has been like the cat with nine lives. While his best friend Ghost desired something different from his life, Tommy thrived in the drug game and never wanted to do anything else.

“The reason that Tommy is alive is that we had a show about selling drugs, and not just selling drugs, but the consequences, the aftermath, the destruction,” he explained via Express. “But ultimately you only had one character who started out wanting to sell drugs and finished wanting to sell drugs, and now that backdrop has outlasted the character.”

Well before coming to Chicago, Tommy watched almost everyone he loved die, even some by his own hand. Now in Force, he’s trying to reinvent himself and his business.

Tommy will have to turn to an unlikely ally in episode 9

Episode 109, which is titled “Trust,” will air on Starz on April 10, 2022. The official Starz description reads, “Vic faces a devastating loss. Walter is ready to go to war and sends for heavy hitters. Tommy soon realizes he needs more power but is turned down by one of his closest allies and is forced to turn to an unlikely resource.”

When Force goes off the air for the season on April 17, we won’t be getting another Power Universe series for six months. When asked about the mini hiatus, the official Force Instagram posted, “We need a minute to recover from this week’s episode y’all.” It’s likely that since there will be such a huge gap of time between the debut of a Power series that Starz is trying to stretch it out for a long period of time which is why episode 9 is delayed.

Joseph Sikora says Tommy could die at any moment on ‘Power Book IV: Force’

Force has been renewed for a second season, but that doesn’t mean that Tommy will get through the end of the season unscathed. In fact, Sikora says Tommy could die at any moment.

“Tommy brings the heart and emotion of South Side Jamaica, Queens, wherever he goes, much in the way that [Force producer] 50 Cent does,” Sikora told Entertainment Weekly. “That is a very important aspect. And there’s a lot to be discovered in a city like Chicago that’s so rich with, not only history, but also gangsterism. But so does New Orleans, Cleveland, Miami, Los Angeles. Depending on how things turn up in Chicago, if Tommy survives Chicago, if he becomes the king of Chicago, if he has to leave Chicago, why can’t he go and step out of that? All of those things are definite possibilities. I think that it opens up the possibility that Tommy could die at any moment.”
