‘Power Book IV: Force’: The Teaser Trailer and Release Date Have Just Been Revealed

The third and possibly most anticipated Power Universe spinoff, Power Book IV: Force finally has a release date. The series is set in Chicago. The show is unlike the previous Power series which are set in New York. Force follows Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora). Fans of the franchise will recognize Tommy as the best friend and business partner of the late James “Ghost” St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick).

Volatile and hot-tempered, the drug game runs through Tommy’s blood. It looks like when he steps foot in Chicago, the city’s not going to know what hit it.

‘Power Book IV: Force’ will debut on Feb 6, 2022

After months of anticipation, Starz has announced that the Tommy Egan-led spinoff will debut on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022, at 9 PM ET. The official description for the series gives fans a ton more details than had previously been announced. It reads,

Power Book IV: Force centers on fan-favorite character Tommy Egan, played by Joseph Sikora, after he cuts ties and puts New York in his rearview mirror for good. As Tommy leaves New York after losing Ghost, LaKeisha and the only city he’s ever known, he makes a quick detour to close an old wound that’s been haunting him for decades. What was supposed to be a quick stop turns into a labyrinth of family secrets and lies Tommy thought were long buried.  One step leads to another and Tommy quickly finds himself in Chicago’s drug game, inserting himself between the city’s two biggest crews. In a city divided by race, Tommy straddles the line, ultimately becoming the lynchpin that not only unites them – but holds the POWER to watch them crumble. As the first season unfolds at breakneck speed, Tommy uses his outsider status to his advantage, breaking all the local rules and rewriting them on his quest to become the biggest drug dealer in Chicago.”

The teaser trailer opens with Frank Sinatra’s “My Kind of Town.” The blue-eyed singer belts out his love for Chicago. We see Tommy’s infamous blue 1960s Mustang riding along a winding road in the dead of winter. Though he’s warned in the series not to stick around Chicago, he does.

Almost immediately it looks like he’s back to his old tricks.

Joseph Sikora says ‘Power Book IV: Force’ is a true continuation of ‘Power’

Power Book II: Ghost follows Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr) and Power Book III: Raising Kanan acts as a prequel series to the universe. However, Sikora says Force is a true continuation of the original series. “It’s really f***ing good,” Sikora told Entertainment Weekly. “People are going to love it. I think that it’s going to take all facets of Tommy that we’ve built up to until now to not only survive but to potentially thrive — and to potentially leave. You don’t know if it’s going to be one city and then another city and if he’s going to keep bopping or what connections need to be made.”

Sikora explained that Force returns to the adult themes that were sprinkled throughout the first show. “How we think of Power, the natural progression of the Power show turns into Power Book IV,” the actor told XXL Magazine. “Power Book IV picks up on the original in the same vein of it.”
